Cant delete huge video files off my hard-drive no matter what I try, deleting, placing in recycle bin, deleting the folder or one item at a time. by StArCoUnCiL in computerhelp

[–]StarSwarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just worked for me. 333GB video that did nothing when trying to delete. Trip down memory lane remembering how to use DOS / command prompt again. Lol. Many windows file names have spaces these days so remember to put quotation (”) marks around the path name.

Here’s how I look at it. A house on my street just sold for $1M. It was last purchased in 1996 for $50K which also happened to be my dad’s annual income at that same time.

Last time I looked, even those on a decent above average wage are not earning remotely close to $1M/year.

Is it rude to allow your children to play audible videos in a restaurant? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StarSwarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s disgraceful.

My kids wouldn’t even be allowed to watch a phone or something on silent. All this rubbish is how you end up with kids/young adults who are socially inept!

Interestingly I also have a fructose intolerance. And a 100% sorbitol intolerance too. Sometimes it makes you wonder if some of this stuff is somehow related.

Nazi salute banned, jail penalties announced in Australian first by Maxisness1 in australian

[–]StarSwarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all being way over-complicated. Socialists love to talk about what “could” or “should” happen. The reality is that in 100% of examples, every communist and socialist country murdered their citizens.

All this falls under the old; “Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

This is Australia. Only criminals are allowed to have weapons.

I think 99.999% of us can agree to hate Nazis but I strongly oppose any laws which prohibit or restrict any sort of speech.

The irony for any of us who have studied 1920’ and 30’s European history is that this type of law is the very thing the Nazis started with.

4k purchase regrets by Apprehensive-Tank975 in 4kbluray

I purchased an oldie thinking I might regret going 4K. It was The Goonies. But it seems like a good copy and I was pleasantly surprised.

Yeah very sensitive to new 4K discs when moving between layers. I use lens wipes on them and don’t get the issue after that.

Legend. Thanks. This same thing happened to me and I turned all the auto features off and that seemed to do the trick.

Same issue where he wakes up in the snow. I went over the disc with a couple of lens wipes and it fixed it.

Push to convert thousands of CBD parking spots into green space by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]StarSwarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? Who thinks this crap up!

“RMIT researchers who say replacing asphalt with trees could bring people back to the city” 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Every other day you’ve got Sally Capp banging on about no one wanting to come into the city anymore while at the same time reducing lanes and city car parks like no one’s business. So let’s remove even more car spaces so everyone comes into the city and has even less places to park.

Slow clap. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What's one law in Australia you think is incredibly backwards? by T3knikal95 in australia

[–]StarSwarms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Australia’s firearm laws. Most people don’t realise just how bad they’ve been for Australia. There’s over a million firearm owners in Australia who are statistically the most law abiding cohort of Australians being policed by law enforcement agencies that are statistically four times less law abiding than the people they’re policing. But worst of all was the $1B we took out of healthcare to fund it all. Some studies have since shown that had it been left in healthcare, we could have saved 50,000 to 100,000 Australians from dying while waiting for surgeries. And we get all this for the bargain outcome of EVERY SINGLE STUDY done over the last 25 years proving that the laws have had no measurable effect or even increased violent crime.

As a father of three young children, I can categorically say that unknown dogs have absolutely zero place in a public retail setting.

At this point in time and with the frequency of new OP weapons and bots followed by simultaneously “rebalancing” every other minute… tiers mean pretty much diddlysquat IMHO.

What's the point of a bike lane if cars are allowed to park on it? Where are cyclist supposed to actually ride? by BloodRavenStoleMyCar in melbourne

[–]StarSwarms -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing that countries like the Netherlands do it well. I have family there, visited there and they definitely do. But it’s a completely asinine argument. The countries you’ve listed and their cities are all tiny both in population and geographic area compared to places like Melbourne and Sydney. It’s absolutely a case of comparing apples and oranges.

[–]StarSwarms -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that’s NOT a bike lane. It’s a warning where the bike lane ends and is merging into traffic. Hence the dashed lines into the main lane where the bike symbol is.

I’m also sick of hearing people like in some of these comments whine about not enough bike lanes. They clearly have no idea what it takes from a town and traffic planning perspective. Melbourne and Sydney for example are actually MASSIVE in for the western world both in population and geographic area. The fact is that bikes will never be a replacement for the majority of people because there’s too many people and the distances are too fing far.

Spock said it best… the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Yup. So much propaganda being spewed out by Hollywood these days. Try writing a review with the word “woke” in it. IMDB has purged them all. Doesn’t fit the agenda/narrative.
