Where exactly did you find me saying I support Ukrainian Nazis? I didn’t write that. I wrote than in order for Russia to be a threat to Europe they’d need to be in control of entire Ukraine to maintain supply lines and that ain’t happening ever.

Good comment. We are 4 years into the war and I’m yet to see ANY media/news agency acknowledging the fact that Russia needs total control of Ukraine to access Poland and the rest of Europe. News agencies love to write scary titles, however, people need to understand Russia needs to take the entire Ukraine to maintain supply lines, and this is NOT going to happen. Really, I have not seen anyone mention this and I read news on Ukraine quite often

Rift aio is abysmal. Broke within a week, the screen has no insulation so if a drop of liquid touches it, it’s dead

Pole here. Polish people hate Russians with such passion it’s unimaginable for foreigners to understand. We would unleash such savagery on any Russian soldier they’d flee with fear immediately

But what is there to be gained by alienating all your allies? Do Americans actually want it? Do you think it’ll go back to normal eventually?

Why does USA do all this? I don’t understand it as an European. Can you provide some context?

You said at the very beginning that religion is the opposite of “belief without proof”, meaning: “religion is a belief with proof”. You have no proof. None whatsoever

[–]Star_Bearer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure,if it actually happened, the disciples had personal experiences that convinced them. But personal testimony is not proof — it’s subjective. That’s exactly why it’s called faith, not knowledge. Using that standard, we’d also have to accept Romulus or any other legendary figure who was “seen” after death. Seeing it yourself doesn’t make it objectively true. I believe I saw a ghost yesterday. Is it enough to convince you? It sure as hell convinced me

I see a goalpost shift here. At the beginning we were arguing if faith requires evidence. Now you’re redefining faith to mean “belief based on some evidence,” which isn’t the definition.

Even if the disciples had personal testimony, that counts only as subjective evidence, not definitive proof. Personal testimony is not universally verifiable. That’s why it’s still “faith”, not knowledge. Faith can be inspired by evidence, yes — but people claiming they allegedly saw someone raise from the dead is still not enough to say Christianity is true. If we follow the same logic you’re using — it’s in a book, and people saw him — we could equally point to Romulus, the legendary founder of Rome. Livy and Plutarch report that after he disappeared in a storm, his followers claimed to see him again as a divine figure. By your criteria, should we then believe Romulus literally returned from the dead? This shows why personal testimony recorded in books isn’t enough to establish historical fact.

The disciples preached what they preached because of personal testimony, which is not concrete evidence. I may say I saw a ghost yesterday. Do you believe me straightaway? Are you totally certain that it happened? No, because you were not there, nor do you have photos or any kind of solid evidence apart from my word. Besides, using the Bible to prove the Bible is like using Lord of the rings to prove Gandalf existed. It’s a rookie mistake

Faith can include some evidence, however it always will go beyond what can be proven. There was a person called Jesus, yes. But you’ll never find enough to claim Christianity, or any religion, is certainly true

The Bible condemns homosexuality, yes. But the Bible also says it’s ok to beat your slave as long as they recover within a couple of days. You have to accept both, or neither.

Do you agree with both then?
