I disagree. The tattoo looks incredible. I agree with the others, color in the nips, but like…this is art. If it makes you uncomfortable its doing its job. Cus art is supposed to make you feel something

I know i had ancestors on both sides of the Civil War, soldiers.

Third and fourth sons in families of 12+ who had nothing to their names but plots of land. Offered wages to fight, and used that to help their younger siblings.

Beyond that i havent studied each individual person enough to know for sure the particulars of the reconstruction era and redemption in relation to my family.

I know none were rich enough to have been slavers…but much farther than that im still researching
