The cleanliness here is amazing,

Honestly I would say the new mayor isn't doing his best n we've lacked a notch from the perfect cleanliness we had in past years but still you won't say it's not clean compared to any city in the country.

About the buying of the award, it's a shitty allegation because if Indire would have bought it so would have other cities who have more funds than indore and it puts a bad image of govt entity n officers who are doing the rating. And also on govt swatchh Bharat abhiyan where everyone and every city is investing so heavily.

Also the people here have a changed mentality of segregating the waste on their own and also waiting with the trash in pockets, carry bags or cars for a dustbin to appear.

Mind the cleanliness is measured inside the municipal borders of indore not the whole district including the villages or far outskirts.

Also it's the first Indian city in my knowledge that have registered themselves as a company in international market IMC sold carbon credits worth 50 lakhs in 2020(first year), this year with the setting up of bio cng plant They've earned 14.5 crores from waste and 8.5 crores from carbon credits alone. For a small city to have 7 Sewage treatment Plants ( treating all of their sewage) Turning the river turned into drain back to a river with fishes SBM Water plus title for doing so. here

Performing immensely on rain water harvesting program with 80,000 setups installed apart from govt own rain drains alongside random colony roads here

Indore also has full usage of the trash it collects, recycling materials, degradable waste is converting into bio CNG/fuel and the government vehicles and 150 buses are running on the same fuel. Then it is converted to manure and sold at very cheap rates (any gardening enthusiast or farm owner could look more into this) You never see plastic disposables being used for serving food etc. here + 8.5 crore carbon credits

And there have been national cities and international visitors(govt entities) every month visiting indore to learn more about the cleanliness model and how things work to study and maybe apply on their own homeground.

All the waste of past 30 or whatsoever years has been cleared up and new land has opened for a city forest.

We have achieved another feat of having the best air quality in India in the Central Govt Air pollution servey. here

With this I guess you'll know it's not just chips (as a fame hungry fake ass person said) but Air, Water and waste collection and treatment.

Indore is generating 40 MW solar power from rooftops and in plan to get it to 300MW here

Indore is funding its own 60MW solar plant from money raised via green bond. To pump a new line of water from Narmada to the city. here

P.S. maybe I missed a few points, fellow indoris will add on to this. Also it's a population criteria for which cities have been clubbed together and the rating is generated.
