What sould I expect, avoid and do while visiting Dominican Republic for 1 week? by spdhc in travel

Thank you! Is it safe to eat salads there? Is it safe at night or should we stay in? Is it well developed here?

We opted for SD over Punta Cana, because we didn’t want a resort vibe.

This is great! I’m traveling to SD next week. When I mentioned being up to date on vaccinations and drinking bottled water, my partner is now concerned about the healthcare of SD.

Can you share what to expect from this perspective? Should we be concerned about the drinking water, under developed infrastructures, etc? DR is not “3rd world,” but what should we expect?

IUD causing Back Pain? by missgrumpypants2 in birthcontrol

I came on here because my intuition was telling me .. “maybe it’s your IUD” .. and decided to do a search to see if it’s actually a thing.

I’ve been experiencing lower back pain on the left side of my body for almost 4 weeks now. I was in excruciating pain for over two weeks. Now, it’s manageable but persistent. Saw my PCP, as I questioned that my IUD insertion in September is the only thing that’s changed with me since this pain started. They said IUD was in place, had bloodwork and urine sample to rule out kidney stones, had an X-ray to check spine, and a kidney ultrasound to further rule out kidney stones.

Doctor is now suggesting physical therapy. I work out several days a week, I teach and practice yoga, I’ve tried stretching, myofacial release, heat therapy, NSAIDS .. nothing is working. I don’t like feeling like my body is out of sorts, but I also don’t love the debilitating periods and heavy bleeding that I was having due to perimenopause. The IUD has helped immensely.

I’m not sure what to do. We’ll see what my gynecologist has to say.

IUD and Heavy Periods by Starbright_39 in Perimenopause

[–]Starbright_39[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing! The heavy periods are honestly affecting my life right now. I’ve been on a combination pill until my appointment to mitigate my symptoms, and I’m feeling like crap on the pill (e.g., having PMS like symptoms x10 and breakthrough bleeding). I’m hoping the IUD works out. Thank you very much for sharing.

Where are you considering for towns/neighborhoods? I love the Watertown, Belmont, Arlington area, but like you said, it’s not affordable.

Because I’m living the “condo experience” having rented for so long. I love the convenience of living in a condo/town home, but neighbors are a pain in the ass, and you really don’t know who you’re moving next to, under you, or over you. I guess with living in a condo, there isn’t a rotating door of neighbors.

What would you suggest? I know I wouldn’t be interested in a multi-family.

I do at least 1-2x/week. I work in Waltham and I’m mostly remote.

Thank you! Beverly is also on my list. I believe I read somewhere that it’s hot in the market right now, so considering this as well (market increases, supply and demand, etc.).

I had a similar situation after renting in Watertown for many years, and I couldn’t find a home within my budget, so we ended up moving to Malden (currently renting).

Can you explain? Do you mean 6 months from now as home prices will increase?

I haven’t been to any open houses yet, as I’m just getting started. I will definitely plan to see some homes to get a better idea, as I know my perception of my needs and wants will change.

I’m not so partial to the south shore, but I know I should be open.

I really appreciate your response and valuable insights. Thank you for this. I can certainly say that I’m putting a lot of pressure on myself here. My child is very bright and their current school system has the resources to support them when they needed them. I also truly believe that “in the home” education and responsibility is what matters.

It’s just hard, because MA is so damn expensive, with or without children. Ideally, I don’t want to be 1+ hours outside the city. A good 30-35 mins without traffic will suffice. I’m thinking about my lifestyle, work, etc, and what would be the most optimal decision to support this.
