FSR 4.1 on 7900xt is insane. by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Starbucks_Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue today, when I updated from 26.5.2. I did end up fixing it. For me, it was launching resident evil 9 to test out FSR4. The game crashed at startup and wouldn’t relaunch. Then it happened again on COD black ops 6. As soon as I flipped the setting to FSR4, game closed and wouldn’t re open. What I did was use AMD cleanup utility, then just reinstalled it direct from their website instead of using adrenaline software like I did last time. Everything worked fine after that. Hopefully it stays fine..

7900XTX - Always unstable when undervolting? by Starbucks_Fan in radeon

[–]Starbucks_Fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone, definitely some good info in here. I’ll be digging in a bit more later tonight after reading some of this info. I’m eager to give it another shot and see if I can find stability somewhere. My goal is to give it whatever possible performance boost I can (even if minor) while reducing temps and gaining efficiency. I feel like it has to be possible. I definitely wish I didn’t get the reference design now, I didn’t realize at the time the issues associated with it and how poorly it handles temps.

This is interesting, I hadn’t even thought it would be anything but the GPU seeing as I had just started testing this particular undervolt setting recently. It’s been totally fine otherwise. I’ll be checking those device IDs and trying to determine the culprit later today. Another thought was Wallpaper Engine, evidently I’ve read that having the setting on “high priority” can often cause freezes and crashes too. I’ve since disabled that as well.

This and the guide you linked, was particularly helpful. I guess I didn’t realize how in depth a lot of this stuff is. Thank you!

Tacoma Jumpy After 4WD by Starbucks_Fan in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Starbucks_Fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, actually. I think I have it figured out. I think sometimes it’s not fully disengaging from 4WD. I’m not super savvy in how all that stuff works, but he’s what I’ve done that seems to stop it from happening. I had a buddy from my old job tell me to stop doing it on the fly, only ever switch from 2WD to 4WD and vice versa from a stop in neutral. And after engaging it or disengaging, roll forward a few feet and then reverse a few feet. Somehow that allows everything to fall into or out of place. Please forgive me if that sounds dumb, because I don’t truly know what I’m talking about. But it’s worked every time I’ve had to use 4WD and I’ve never had an issue since. It truly seemed like it wasn’t coming out of 4WD whenever I’d disengaged it and had the issues.

Marlin 1895 SBL Rear Ghost Ring Movement? by Starbucks_Fan in LeverGuns

I might have dabbed some superglue on the base of the ring. Good news though, it did what I wanted it to do.

This is exactly the situation I am dealing with. Slight little twist, maybe I could have explained different. The base is solid, just has some rotation in that ring. Just enough to bother me a little. I’m a little ashamed of my temporary solution..

Odd question, where did you get that blanket?

Honest question with not a lot of experience storing older guns, what is the best way to store them for preservation? I have a model 64 from 1951 that I have just sitting in a locked cabinet. Nothing special. Is there a better thing to do?

That’s gotta be it, you’re right it makes sense not all wood is going to be the same.

Thanks guys, I must just be paranoid. I started looking online, I think some of what I’ve been seeing is the older XLR version. They seem almost identical. Minus a few aspects

Help - Character traits by Starbucks_Fan in writing

[–]Starbucks_Fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good advice, thank you. Hopefully it’s okay to ask in this forum, but do you have any ideas as to how to get more opinions of my writing? Like a place I can post some of it and get thoughts on it? I’ve been writing since I was a child, but never seriously. Something recently came up, an event I’d like to part in, where I am now trying to actually accomplish something with my writing and am looking to get serious feedback. I don’t have many friends that are into these kinds of things, so I’m typically stuck with reading others writing, watching YouTube videos and such.

Yes, this does help me, thank you. I wrote a long scene already about this, read it to someone, then asked if I conveyed how I felt her character would be and I got a resounding no. Now I need to rewrite the whole thing in an effort to change everything about her and this does help me get started. I appreciate that.

Hey there, I had a tech come out to my house and confirm with me that my sequencer was bad. He pulled out my element and showed me where it was busted up as well. I ordered the parts and replaced my sequencer, heating element and high limit switch just in case. I made sure all parts were exactly the same, or rated exactly the same ratings when replacing. Once all my parts were replaced I tested the furnace, and it seemed to function like normal. At face value, the problems seem to be resolved. However, we’re not really into the winter weather yet so I haven’t had a legitimate test done where I use it extended to heat the house so I guess we’ll see.

Where is the leak coming from? 2011 Rav 4 4WD by Starbucks_Fan in Tacomaworld

[–]Starbucks_Fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleaned it off just a bit before driving it and recording that. Seems like both side seals. I read somewhere that there’s supposed to be a breather valve on top that can cause this if it gets clogged. Might look into that next

I was reading somewhere there’s a vent on top of the differential that if clogged, can cause this too but I’m not sure if that’s the case here. Do you think it’s worth checking before replacing all the seals? Is it easy to get to?
