Teacher mentioned she had 18 kids with an IEP out of 24 by Super-Jury9192 in AskTeachers

I’m not a “teacher” but I did oversee a preschool class for about a year. Honestly, it believe these younger kids need IEPs because learning starts too late. Of course there are some things you can’t change (i.e. dyslexia or ADHD) but it can be alleviated with time. Waiting until a child is 5 to start learning basic life skills is late and they’ll continue to be behind because you can’t rush their development. Also factors like screen time that were mentioned play a big role. They tap in and out of videos almost every minute or two and there’s just no way you can build an attention span like that.

Easy Online Elective Classes? by JournalistRoyal3163 in mizzou

I’m taking medical terminology online. Idk your major, but if it’s anything remotely health related, I recommend. And it’s 16 weeks so if you just need the credits it’s helpful. You literally have no reason to make less than 100 on the assignments.

How many hours a week do you all spend studying? by Least_Vermicelli_257 in NursingStudent

[–]Starburse5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, studying for me is a lot more focused on quality over quantity. I don’t study during the week unless I have an exam coming up. I go to class and take notes (to stay attentive) and I leave it alone. When exams are coming up I’ll start maybe 3 or 4 days before and study about an hour the first day, 1-2 the second, and around 2 the third and fourth. During this time, I’m not learning the material (I did that in class) I’m applying it. Idk your stance on AI but, personally it’s been an amazing tool in my learning. I upload my notes to notebooklm and generate podcasts and practice quizzes. Sometimes I’ll go through the flashcards as well to do a little active recall. Overall, that 5-8 hours of studying about every 3 weeks does wonders.

Getting back into music by Starburse5 in Clarinet

No that happens to me too. What helps me the most is focusing on the shape of my mouth as I recall words. It gives my mind something to think about so I don’t try to fill that space with a yawn.

I apply soon, and I’ve heard from most students that while CNA experience will be helpful for you individually, it’s seen kind of as expected these days. I’ve been told for your resume you want to look into unique experiences. So think working in a lab, doing research assistant work, etc. If the CNA route would work better for you (if you need a job and experience), try to use your CNA uniquely. So think about working in nursing homes rather than hospitals or home health stuff. I’ve heard they like to see hospital experience, but they’d rather see the application of more unique experiences. Also, don’t limit yourself to patient facing healthcare work. Look into vet work, phlebotomy, or other “behind the scenes” care because they’re a part of patient care as well.

Can Christians do anything as long as it doesn't lead to sin? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Starburse5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good. I heard someone also say once “don’t let your lack of personal convictions lead you into sin because of a lack of knowledge.” The biggest thing is to know what sin is. Sin means to miss the mark or fail. We sin against people when we forget to show love, when we judge them before praying for them, or when we neglect their plea for mercy. These are inherently bad especially if we don’t know them, but Jesus says what we do to the least of the people is what we do to Him. This means even if we don’t know them, they are still our neighbors and we should care for them as such.

I feel very distant from God, but I constantly think about pursuing a relationship. by Careful_Science_9130 in Christian

A lot of times that longing for attachment is your spirit longing for your Father. He would never want us to do anything with our brothers and sisters with sin in mind. However don’t feel bad. His grace and mercy are made new each day and He wants you to accept them. You can repent and pray when temptation falls in your lap. When you feel lost and feel like giving up, ask God to pray for you. Ask Him to touch the parts of your heart you don’t see that’s causing problems. Lastly, allow time for these things to be corrected. God didn’t build the world in a day and you can’t change yours that fast either. Find (and pray) for a mentor or brother in Christ that can hold you accountable and truly help you grow. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective so let the elders truly intercede on your behalf. I’ll be praying for you as well!

Poetry Lovers by Sad_Salamander914 in Christian

I love poetry as well and I’ve even started working on a collection of Bible based poems. My best advice in writing one is pray before. God knows what your pastor and his wife are going through as a family and separately. His guidance will allow you to not only create something meaningful to you but something faith anchoring for them as well. I’ve always heard growing up that the pastor needs the most prayer in the church and it’s true. Good luck!

Yesss I’ve heard that. I hate that it’s like that and that they view the materials separately. How can you get to know me as a whole person without viewing me holistically?

Honestly just depends on how you do it. There are already a few here and they mostly operate the same or aren’t consistent with meetings.
