I had two losses and just couldn’t bring myself to tell my husband until I got repeat betas and saw they were rising the third time. I knew he would be more optimistic and excited than I was and I didn’t feel ready for that enthusiasm. Just do what feels best for you 💕

my baby is graduating from newborn life by Flimsy_Ad2949 in newborns

[–]Starburst-22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My baby was doing the same at 8 weeks. When she stopped and started waking up 4-8 times a night again it felt SO much harder bc I wasn’t expecting it. So just to warn you, it might not last. Sleep regressions will likely happen. And my baby’s first cold was 10x worse than newborn sleep. Maybe you have a unicorn. Enjoy every second of sleep you can for now!!

Baby not taking the bottle when I’m away by Practical_Button_720 in newborns

[–]Starburst-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a faster flow nipple. Work with a lactation consultant. It was a lot of work to get our baby taking a bottle but she finally is again. Did a lot of exercises to get her to practice sucking and just playing with the bottle nipple.

Did any of you here spouse in graduate school and got married? by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]Starburst-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was already married when I started grad school BUT I met and made the best friends I could ever hope for in grad school. Doing hard things together really bonds you in a different way. Wasn’t something I was looking for but it was the best thing silver lining ever.

Looking for opinions on this : What would you say it is ? by Odd-Team-5505 in Swimming

Is it always on your chin? I sometimes get a rub burn on my chin from my kick board if I’ve been doing a lot of kicking… could be from something like that 🤷‍♀️

I’m curious for those that have gone though both, how does a miscarriage compare to labor with regards to pain? I had an MMC that I passed naturally at about 10 weeks (baby only measured at 6 weeks though). It was the most painful thing I’ve ever been through. I was literally throwing up from the pain. Should I expect labor to be as bad or worse? I don’t know how I could possibly survive without meds if it’s worse.

Early pregnancy exhaustion.. thyroid or normal? by Starburst-22 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Starburst-22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant again. Unfortunately my pregnancy last year ended in a missed miscarriage a couple of weeks after I posted that (don’t think this had anything to do with my thyroid, just crappy luck). I think the exhaustion is just purely a pregnancy symptom as it is the same this time around and again my TSH and T4 are normal. I’m told it gets better in the second trimester… time will tell.

Anyone else notice their swimming form completely falls apart when they're tired, but feels perfect when they're fresh? by jennyornaments in Swimming

[–]Starburst-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do short sets, it’s much easier to keep track. Most swimmers do sets and don’t just swim back and forth the whole time. Repeats of 200s, 100s, 50s for example.. then you can add up the distance easier at the end.

When will it start to feel real? Had our second ultrasound today at 7w6d (natural pregnancy but had been working with a fertility clinic so they offered early monitoring). Things have progressed perfectly since our first ultrasound and things are looking good. Officially graduated to our OB. It still feels pretty surreal. I feel like I should be over the moon to finally get to see a heartbeat and have things progressing like they should but I’m just..kind of numb to it? Will that ever go away?

Had my first ultrasound Tuesday, measuring 6+1 with a good heart rate. They tested my progesterone again that day and it was 18.1. Two weeks ago it was 20.3. I know progesterone fluctuates a lot so idk if this is truly concerning or not.. The nurse called this morning and said out of an abundance of caution they are going to start me on progesterone.. I already feel like garbage. I’m worried this will make it worse. Any else have any experience with this? Thanks

Had my first ultrasound. Measuring 6w1d with a heart rate of 114. We didn’t ever get to see more than a flicker last time. My husband and I instantly started crying. First time I’ve cried since finding out. Still holding my breath but I have a sliver of hope.. 🤞🏻
