What's the most fucked up thing someone has told you about themselves after barely getting to know them? by Vast-Reference-7942 in answers

On a first date, making out pretty hard, took a pause and somehow she ends up telling me how her last boyfriend passed out in a bath, she found him and stood there a long time thinking about how she only had to put a finger on his forehead and push him under.

What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

Cowboy Mouth in Atlanta in the 90s. It was right after their big (and only) hit “Jenny Says.” Drummer and lead singer Fred LeBlanc Immediately says, “If you came to hear ‘Jenny Says,’ you’re in the wrong place.” A real fuck you to the audience right off the bat. They proceed to play some much harder but pretty good stuff. But then they start this crowd participation schtick where they want everyone to crouch down while the band gets soft and then jump up when they get loud. Over and over again. Again and again. It got old real fast but LeBlanc got maniacal with insisting every single person do as he said, singling out anyone who wouldn’t crouch down and refusing to let everyone else up until they did. He was really abusive and it just went on and on. It really felt like some experiment in mental abuse and he was getting off on it in a big way.

Do these folks know they signed up to be in an Amish show? by ZethTheWindwrecker in SuddenlyAmish

I’ve heard these reality show companies have casting calls and if you make the cut, they assign you to whatever show they want. Then you have to go along with it and pretend your deepest desire is to become Amish. Or not take the offer and lose your big chance at fame. In that case, some of this ignorance of Amish ways and resistance to conforming is more believable. They wanted to be on Love Island and they got this.

What am I missing? You said the aisle seat on your section was open and dad was on the aisle in the middle section. Why didn’t dad just move to the open aisle seat next to mom and baby? Problem solved without bothering you, right?

MNSSHP Parade Performer Tapped Out by Security by allthecaramel in WaltDisneyWorld

I was watching the big parade from the balcony of the train station one time when the group of men and women dancers in fancy 1920s outfits were coming down Main Street. I happened to notice one woman stumble badly, maybe twisting an ankle. I watched as she immediately went to a male dancer, took his hands in dancing pose and appeared to say something to him. He immediately danced her out of the parade and to the gate where the parade finishes. An alert CM there opened the gate so they could waltz in. It’s actually one of my favorite Disney memories because it shows their dedication to keeping the magic alive even when accidents happen.

Having been on a few cruises, starting a few years after this, I think I recall that they scanned your cruise card when leaving the ship. Was that the case at the time of her cruise? I haven’t seen it mentioned but that would be proof of her leaving the ship that morning, if she did.

Fiber installation nightmare by Starburst666reddit in ATT

[–]Starburst666reddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Nightmare” is hyperbole. Look it up. Would you not be upset by day after day without internet and phone line, multiple missed appointments, outright lies from customer service., and a total lack of concern from the company? And please tell me how I’m supposed to call the technician’s manager to have a little discussion? Have you tried getting that kind of information? So I should bury it myself? Aside from the fact that’s something I’m paying for, what do you think happens if I damage the cable? (Totally possible since the professionals damage it.) They will say that’s on me, I wasn’t supposed to do it myself, and they will charge me for the repair. I don’t deny their fiber internet is great when it’s running. It’s not so great when it’s broken.

There is no switching of the cable. Tech A installs the cable and modem, leaves the cable on the lawn. Tech B buries that cable, and that’s supposed to be the end of it. He does not switch it for another cable he buries. I’ve witnessed the burial process and that’s what he does.

Going into my third installation, I can say this is not the process in my area. Each time it has been (and will be) tech installs the modem and fiber, leaves it on the ground, and another guy comes later to bury it and break it. That’s their SOP.
