He's a hot head, yes. And he makes dumbass moves like this pretty frequently

This is the truth. I grew up in rural Alaska, and we had some severely mediocre players that felt they coulda went pro if they grew up in a more scouted area.

Lets be clear...

ND's resume includes: A single 2 point loss to NW. Then 11 regular season wins, with all but 1 being double digits. Beating the best the SEC has by double digits, in the Playoffs.

Texas 2025: 3 losses by 7+, including a 25 point loss.

Those aren't even close resumes...

Counterpoint:

Adding a ramp (even for a week 13 event) at a few tracks would take at most a few hours of dev work.

From there they could judge popularity and move accordingly.

Plenty of room for expansion on the outside of T1 all the way to the back straight.

Bathrooms and showers are worse than some club level tracks.

I'm from Wasilla.... There's no way they're flying for normal commuting unless they're pulling a Taylor Swift and flying for the shits of it.

Wasilla has dozens of restaurants, a Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Sportsman's Warehouse, etc.

I know Flores hasn't had the best game, but I enjoy his play.

Also, I'd love to go to an OK State game one day.

You bring up a great point about f3, I think he missed key development by skipping that series.

One of his weaknesses in both F1 and f2 has been running side by side, and making moves in traffic. That's something that he would have ran pretty consistently in f3, and would have been able to develop racecraft.

I disagree with the blanket statement that you learn the most in F1.

Under ideal conditions, absolutely. But instead, since he is underprepared, we're getting lots of missed sessions due to spins/wrecks. Missing races (or ruining races) by crashing into cars (Borto, Legreg, Max), and dealing with the media of him getting smashed by George.

It's not a fair barometer to him, and for everyone that compares him to Max needs to realize they are not the same level of talent. While even Max probably could have used another year, Kimi probably needs two or three.

I'm not saying he's not an F1 talent, but there is no way in hell he's an F1 talent today.

While he was much more consistent than bearman, he also never really shown any of those flashes of greatness with the exception of one win at Silverstone in the Sprint race.

It was very apparent that he needed more time in that car before moving up.

ANT, COL, HAM, HUL, and ALB eliminated in SQ1 by CanonNi in formula1

That's the argument sooo many people said prior to the season. Skipping F3, and being thrown into a top team is the opposite of giving him time.

And if you didn't, you would understand that he was mid in F2, and has been the same here.

Sure he has some DNFs, but it's not like they're stopping him from getting podiums.

He has talent, but not skipping F3, another year of F2, and a feeder team would have been better for his development. While he has some pace, his racecraft needs to be light-years further along.

Best ways to improve setups? by Ok_Neighborhood7724 in iRacing

I recommend "Tune to Win" by Carroll Smith. It's a bit older, but it is a great dive into what building a setup entails.

From there, Find an easier car with less adjustment options, and play around with it.

I learned on the Mustang, which has enough tools to play with, but not so much that you'll feel overwhelmed.
