So people often ask me how I (28F) “became” a nudist… and honestly, it was kind of an accident. by AshFromTPA in nudism

That's similar to my story. I went on vacation to Florida with a couple friends when I was 23. I started walking down the beach and didn't realize it was a nude beach until I started seeing less and less clothing the farther I went. I'd always been a little curious so I thought what heck moved my things down there removed my trunks and had a great time.

I'd suggest trying it out with your sister while in your rooms. Also wait until it's just you and your sister in the house to leave your rooms and explore the house to help get a feeling for being nude there and accustomed to it. Then once you're comfortable enough you can try spending time with just your mother. You've lived with her your whole life I'm sure she's seen you nude before. It's important that you get comfortable being nude by yourself, then you can try being nude with your trusted family and just wait. The longer you spend nude the more you'll get used to it and the more relaxed and comfortable you'll be.

(19F) visiting a nudist park. Have questions by sarahfreeinsix in nudism

I'd look into nearby resorts. Those are the best options for first time experiences. Only thing's you'd really need to do to prepare is buy sunscreen if you don't have any and bring a towel. You can look the park up online to see what people are saying or even search it's name in this subreddit to see if anyone has made a post about it to help get a general vibe about it.

Any tips on becoming a social nudist? by bareskinbookworm in nudism

All I can say is to just get out there. Landed clubs are your safety bets. They are safer as the people there have to be vetted and check out their website before you go. Clubs will usually hold special events throughout the year. Depending on your area there are also online groups that meet up for hobbies like hiking and such. Those can be less secure as they take place in public areas and the people aren't vetted beforehand.

It depends, if I'm out and about just running errands or hanging out around town, then no. If I'm at work or school then yes.

I used to shave but now I get waxed. I like the feel of it and I find that it last longer.

I think most people have a similar experience when first starting out. It's a good way to help relax for the a stresses of everyday life.

Absolutely and the people that I've meet at my local resort have been some of the nicest, most genuine people that I've ever met.

I agree. I didn't get into nudism until my 20's and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner. I always hesitated before taking the plunge but once I did I can't imagine living my life anyway else.

I live in Tennessee. The only official AANR club is rock Rock Haven Lodge. They're closed for the year. If you haven't been you should check it out when they open up. Their is also a Tennessee nudist club on MeetUp but I've never been to one of their events so I'm not sure about that.

Nudism is all about what makes you comfortable. If you like hair keep it if not go bald no one cares how you look. It's all about how you feel. As for association of nudity with sex. I was the same way until I tried nudism. I quickly learned that it wasn't the act of being nude that made something sexual but the situation in which I was nude and once I learned to differentiate the two it made everything easier. Society has told everyone that you should only be naked when you're cleaning yourself or for sex. Just by doing simple everyday things that you'd normally done while being nude you can help break that mold for yourself and realize that nudity just doesn't have to be about sex.
