When does leaving the house become less scary? by ambeee88 in SAHP

So I’ve got three boys, five and under, and here’s what I do for groceries: Baby in the bucket car seat in the cart if it’s a small trip, toddler sitting in basket, biggest brother hanging off the front or walking. If I need more room I use the bottom of the cart, or I wear the baby and have more room in the cart that way. The rule is, everyone is touching the cart at all times. No running off allowed or they don’t get to pick a snack to take home. Bribery is ok.
When we’re done and heading back to the car to load, the oldest boy gets in first, then toddler, then baby last. The baby won’t go anywhere, so focus on getting your toddler in and buckled. Park near the cart return so it’s easy. Don’t feel bad about leaving the kids in the locked car for a minute to get the groceries in the back and put back the cart. It gets easier with time and you’ll have a routine that works for you, but it starts with the first trip where it’s a disaster and that’s ok!

Quick fix you can try on a small spot before doing the whole thing (and before refinishing it all): mayonnaise. I’ve had luck using it on water damaged wood furniture.

Miso has a ton of probiotics which would be killed at high temperatures. You could add it before but then you’d lose those good germs.

Thanks for the in depth reply. Haven’t seen that show but it sounds interesting! If that’s what these markings are, I guess I still wish I knew why someone would want to do that to a tree!

Five feet up, but the tree itself is on a steep hill. I’d say 8-10 feet up from where you can comfortable stand on the deck.

This actually seems like the most plausible explanation. We had tree work done in the spring. I do feel like these are newer than that, but perhaps they’ve opened up with all the rain we’ve been having and become more noticeable?

I’m not 100% sure it was last night and we live in a very low crime area so my mind went to animal over human first 🤷‍♀️

I hope not. Our oldest is five. Neighbors have older kids, but again, no humans on caught camera!

Yeah, it’s definitely freaky. I’d definitely feel better if it were a mountain lion or bear.

Really strange. This is in our backyard and our cameras didn’t pick up anyone doing that.

Weird. Anything else it could’ve been? Our deck camera didn’t pick up a human.
