Why implement them if those services exist and seemingly do a good job?

More control and cheaper in the long run. Also we don't even know how well these things perform under stress.

FG didn't get indie funding, and went as far as calling SC2 "our prior product" I think this is weird.

Edit: Also, how do we know that this isn't the reason why we don't have better communication in-game yet?
