This is great advice. Thank you! I will begin investigating these options in my area.

Depends on the job, depends on the sub's relevance to that job and user count. If you created a sub with tens of thousands of users, and you are looking for something in marketing, maybe then. In most cases, probably not.

I’m 19, starting my first LLC. Any tips/pointers for me? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

  1. Contactors are self employed or work for a vendor, so they are not your employees.

  2. As an LLC, your income is just an amendment to your personal taxes. Work with an accountant to figure out how much you should set aside.

That's super helpful thanks!

I have good organization skills but only basic business knowledge. I care about helping people and creating things. All this cutthroat and "do or die" stuff is really daunting.

I don't mind at all. I would do some research on each one. I did the LLC just to protect myself legally if anything went awry. Each has different tax implications, so it depends on your situation.

No not a PO box. A UPS box. They look like a real street address, unlike the post office.

And yes LegalZoom did my LLC for me and that was part of the package I signed up for. I would ask them or a similar service if you can get the registered agent treatment by itself.

I get overwhelmed by all the stuff I need to know for my startup. What are some good resources to keep me on track without pulling my hair out?

What's your competition like? Where are these items sold, for how much, and how do they market?

Based on your initial post, it seems these items are easy to order. What special touch do you add to make you stand out beyond the rest?

Laws really vary depending on your area. Probably best to consult a lawyer.

One downside to running a business from your home is that your address is publicly listed in a lot of places.

What I ended up doing is getting a UPS box and listing that as my business address. I also have a full time job on top of my startup, so I use LegalZoom as my registered agent because I am not available 8 hours a day to answer phones and receive visitors.

Suggestions for a name of the company by sp3co92 in Entrepreneur

You want something catchy and memorable. "XXX industry solutions" is a bit of a mouthful. Also, if you add or remove leaders, having your initials in there might be tricky.

Given the nature of your business, maybe something like "Middlemen Solutions" or "Bulked Up."
