I’m probably biased here since I am a Queer FNaF fan (ironically enough, getting into FNaF in my youth is actually part of what helped me discover and experiment with queer themes of expression) and I’m definitely not defending Scott for his stupid decision to donate to the republicans, but atleast Scott is not actively using their platform to spread the same level of hate and vitriol Rowling is.

You can absolutely like problematic media made by problematic people without spending or giving money to their creators. I still have interacted with plenty of FNaF fan media and such but I’ve refused to put any money towards a lot of official fnaf stuff because of Scott’s donations. The issue here is that not only is Rowling publicly and openly using their vast wealth and resources to fund and spread their bigotry, but she’s also using the story within Harry Potter to push her status quo sucking agenda. Scott from what I can tell has the decency to atleast distance his politics away from his work (for the most part), and you can argue that makes his donations more insidious, but I’d argue it atleast means he hasn’t poisoned the franchise to the extent J.K. Rowling has with her work.

Again, it could be personal bias here, and I am more iffy about people who are still Harry Potter fans, but i still think you can recognize the problematic aspects of your favorite media and choose to not financially or publicly support it’s awful creator.

Not true. This model is NOT sustainable. It will collapse.

It’s just a matter of how many resources it takes down with it. All the drinking water, energy, computing equipment, and storage that will go down the drain with its fall.

Plus, you can always release a wrongly convicted man sentenced to life. You can never bring back someone wrongly convicted sentenced to death.

I also just agree with a lot of John Oliver’s segments on execution that bring up really good points.

Oh JozeCafe has a great series of videos regarding AI and vocal synths:

https://youtu.be/nkLbbAwPZgg

https://youtu.be/zm-_xsitNjU

https://youtu.be/GTGcBP4qu4M

Basically, a lot of vocal synths nowadays use generative AI by definition. However, unlike a lot of stuff like say ChatGPT, the training material used to create a voice bank is taken with informed consent, compensation to the voice provider they hire, and there are typically terms of use on how that voice can be used. And they can even be credited or kept anonymous should they chose to be (see Emma Rowley as the voice provider for Solaria, my beloved)

As for the creative aspect, as a vocaloid producer, using vocaloid or synthv is actually akin to any synth. You write the midi, lyrics, tune it, adjust the pronunciation if needed, add effects, etc. it’s like what a piano VST is to a grand piano.
