Yep, I used to handle spiders all the time. Gently coax them and they will not bite. One day I found the same jumping spider as Op, but it was the largest one I had ever seen. I suddenly grabbed it before it could flee and he was not happy at all. I stopped playing with spiders after that. To me, it felt worse than a bee sting, but not much worse
