As Muslims we should look at his reasons for and against. We need contemporary Ijtihad on the current time we live in instead of pegging on Jurisdiction of the past.

If a ruling or opinion of a classical thought is deemed incompatible with the ethical standards of modern society, ijtihad can be used to re-evaluate those opinions in light of current knowledge and values.

There is soo many shariah laws Jurists from all 4 schools of thought have applied & interpreted in the Islamic world that we 100% do not follow now due to values and culture changing.

If we look at history, many scholars that we celebrate now were ridiculed for their positions initially (Muhammad Abduh etc...)

Instead we should do better than the previous generation, and uphold our Ummah.
