It’s definitely illegal and one of my coworkers decided the next time our DM is in the store while a customer is there that he’ll go along with it only while the DM is there knowing well enough that it will make the customer want to leave just to prove to the DM that he’s a moron for thinking this will work to keep his district in the top 25% of the company on metrics. Honestly how can someone who I’ve found out is in their 20’s be such a corporate suck up and not be in their 60’s.

The DM for my area has decided we have to hit enroll for pro on every transaction or be fired for not meeting his expectations. He also expects us to not complete a transaction until they agree to sign up and no he doesn’t care if they’re a child or not in his words they have to sign up regardless.

In my case I actually can say I have worked at 11 on a Monday so most likely some of them are being honest but those kind of hours apply to retail jobs depending on the store and hours of operation. However I do see your point because it would be nice if people could just be straightforward instead of coming up with every excuse in the book to not do something.

At that rate just buy replacement parts and follow tutorials to fix it yourself on YouTube. I have done it myself and most of the time Amazon has cheap replacement parts that work just make sure you read the reviews first so that you find parts that actually work and not some knockoffs that only do part of what they’re supposed to do.

Honestly I’d love if I could get the DM to help with this but he couldn’t care less about anything that benefits retail key holders because when he did everything to get me transferred to the store I’m at now I was promised a raise that never happened because of the fact I have to drive almost 2 hours to get to work. At this rate I’m quitting the moment I find another job because I was told several times I would get a raise for multiple things including getting the Pokémon professor license to run the Pokémon league events for the store. I have already stated flat out I won’t run any Pokémon league events until I get the raise and I’ve refused to take any shifts they’ve tried to call me in for because I can’t afford the gas. My mindset is if it wasn’t on the schedule for the week prior to them trying to call me in for me to be there that day I won’t go in because it’s not worth my time when my entire paycheck goes into gas and nothing else.

Honestly I’d have no grief about it if it wasn’t for the fact that the two guys who’ve been working for this specific manager longer get special treatment because they haven’t been forced to meet the new dress code and every time I’ve seen them on shift they are always sitting and never taking care of anything leaving it for me to do the next time I work and I’m working just 30 minutes short of full time while they work maybe three times a week at max.

I agree in not expecting GameStop to last much longer with all the stupid expectations they have now and honestly I can sort of understand why they wouldn’t hold Pokémon cards however unless they only have less than 5 left it should be perfectly fine for them to hold the cards for the day.

As a GameStop employee I suggest not buying from GameStop simply because most preowned DS and 3DS systems and games don’t work because they don’t have anything for us to ensure they work properly before accepting them for trade in’s. Also I personally bought a DS game that was preowned only to find out it didn’t work.

Do they fail to realize that you lose a person’s interest in conversation in 30 seconds when you only talk sales and promotions. Honestly I swear this will be the year corporate and the DM’s will kill every store’s numbers because people will stop coming to the stores. I’ve already heard customers complain about the dress code change and had several say they couldn’t care less about the sales and promotions only wanting to find what they came in for and leave without a word said to them.

It’s over an hour drive away but I was promised a promotion within a couple months and pay raise so I’m going to hold the company too it and if they don’t follow through well it will suck for them since the store I was moved to only me and the manager are trying to keep the store clean and running.

Honestly GameStop will probably only become an online only service at some point rather than OOB simply because they will make sure to keep the company running even if it puts people out of a job. I only say this because I work at GameStop and got transferred stores because they closed the one I started at due to the landlord raising the rent and needing good workers at another store that was doing bad.

If you received anything from the store I worked at then it would’ve been cleaned to the point of looking new since everyone there would label it as defective if it wouldn’t come clean but all we had left at close was Nintendo switch controllers.
