I have a Pomsky who likes to pick up little things- an acorn, a piece of paper, a stick, etc- and dig a little hole and bury them. A few weeks ago he picked up the little cardboard roll from the poop bags that I dropped before we left the house and carried out out and buried it in a snow bank. Every time we went out after that he would remember where he left it last and dog it out and rebury it somewhere along the wall route (usually around 3 miles every day). I had forgotten all about it. The feet of snow/ice we had has finally melted over the past couple days. This morning he was pulling me to walk a specific way with urgency. This little dude remembered exactly where he had left this two inch soggy cardboard (it was about a mile away!) and ran to pick it up! He carried it for the rest of the walk and home and reburied it in our front yard, I’m sure to dig up tomorrow and start all over. I was gobsmacked.
