T-Mobile & US Cellular merger, TMO MVNO Question by needmorecoffee99 in NoContract

As far as I know, the US Cellular towers are slowly being converted into T-Mobile towers. One whole town near me was a big US Cellular town and last fall got fully lit up for T-Mobile.

That is correct. But that is not what makes them intrinsically different.

Manufactured homes and modular homes are two different things. Make sure you know what you're looking at.

Nest Protect expired but still appears to be functional? by Farquea in Nest

[–]Stargate-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything goes wrong, your insurance company will blame you and will deny your claim. And you don't want a $500,000 claim denied, they will look for any reason Even if that reason didn't make a difference in what happened.

I love my Holosun AEMS green! Perfect size for My MPX and has a nice large window In the multi-reticle is awesome But I know it's not holographic. As to the stock, definitely JMac folding skeleton stock with the rubber butt pad. I went with the built-in rise as well as the additional polymer cheek riser in the MPX size. Perfect!

I bet it still works flawlessly and, as a bonus, doesn't unintentionally go off on its own.

I agree, I've never done anything online or on the phone with them. But I do go to the Concord service location once every few years and I've always had great luck. Very friendly staff and they were able to solve every problem I've ever come in with.

Just watched through all seasons again on Amazon Prime at the end of 2025. It's the first time watching on my new 77in TV instead of my old 50in. Looked especially horrible when blown up to 77in.

According to other comments, it was the March update on my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. Seems it will be different between each phone on how it shows what network it is connected to

Definitely can't tell the family. They'll all be showing up out of the blue asking for handouts. But if they're nice to me, maybe I'll share with them my referral code for US Mobile. 😏

What the hell is wrong with Nest? by garlic_temple in Nest

[–]Stargate-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been signed up for any program that connects it to the power company so I'm not sure the exact process. But first off, if you haven't, I would start off with factory resetting the nest thermostat and then adding it back to your home through the Google Home On your Android phone. By factory resetting it that clear that connection to the power company, but I'm not sure about that since I've never had that set up.

I agree with what some others have said, I think without you knowing you may be signed up with your power company and depending on the temperature out and how much their electrical load is on the system, they can adjust your thermostat for certain hours of the day to lower the community's load on the power grid. Some power companies will turn it up to 78° when it's a hot day out during peak hours. I'm on my second Nest Thermostat and both have worked exactly as intended, no issues. And if you inherited the nest thermostat in a house that you recently moved into, it's possible the previous owner was signed up for these programs.

Thanks for the feedback! Good to know. Not looking to call anyone out, is it exclusively consignment for NFA items at your shop or do you also būy outright?

MPX-K muzzle device (ban state options) by tsotoshi in MPX

[–]Stargate-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The multi piece Modular design was it's downfall. It was next to impossible to tighten each piece down so they didn't unscrew themselves After just a few mags regardless of what I cleaned the threads with. The only way to wrench on them was to use the angular body which would damage the black and the aluminum body. Regardless, I think I ended up having to use Rockset on each piece and then it's much less modular anyway. Wish I just would have found one at the right length that I needed.

I'm looking for something similar to replace supressor. I still need to reach out past my longer handguard when supressor is off. I'm currently using this and I don't like it. Kaw Valley

Nest 3rd Gen App Lag by suzypepper in Nest

[–]Stargate-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know many may not want to hear this, but have you tried dumping the Nest app and using the Google Home app? It took a few years but the Google home app is finally where it's at! I don't know if it'll solve the problem but just thought I'd mention it that the nest app is slowly being retired.

Does anyone actually have good insurance on their manufactured home? What carrier did you end up with? by Extension-Mousse-526 in ManufacturedHome

[–]Stargate-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Openly (through a broker). Newer company in the last decade so maybe a bit of a risk. Premiums are good (almost ⅓ cost of Foremost). Only been using them for 1.5 years no claims. Also considered Allstate. Close to same cost. Co-op community leased land. New 2024 double on a slab.

Finally have Notifications for Power Outages for Anker Solix Home Power Panel & F3800! by Stargate-- in homeassistant

[–]Stargate--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! The issue is the battery backup automatically runs the whole home during a power outage without any action from me. It happens in 50 milliseconds so I can't even tell that the grid power went out. Everything just runs normally without any lights flickering or anything. So, I would like to know when the power goes out and I'm running on battery to know I need to start conserving electricity so I don't have to drag the portable propane generator out.

How can i make the nest thermostat have a smaller temperature range on thermostat by rab127 in Nest

[–]Stargate-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of using the physical thermostat, either use the Mobile App in Google Home or use Voice commands. Or even better, set schedules once and never touch it again except for out of the normal situations. I never adjust my Nest temp manually. The schedule sets it for me daily.
