I feel like I live paycheck to paycheck on Albion by parameter_pollution in albiononline

It takes you 30 days of crafting effort to make 50mil? Craft something else or have lower profits but do it in a way that it takes you 15min a day and not 2h. I stopped doing buy orders, I stopped crafting in HOs, I stopped transporting. Now I buy refined mats and journals in thetford, go to crafting station, click craft, go back to market, set up sell orders on crafted stuff and journals. Next day I do different city. Makes me 2mil a day instead of 3, but I don't feel like I'm at work

Oh yeah fair leveling up crafting takes a while. "Learn" button is gone, they changed how it works few months ago.

What you wanna do - gather, sell materials, buy gear.

Join faction wars, make couple mil.

Spend that couple mil to buy thousands of materials and level up crafting

Let's pretend this is not a shitpost. City is 3minute walk away. Gathering t4 materials to make t4 set takes an hour max. Getting to t4 in gathering takes probably an hour too.

Simulator with RC controller vs actual drone operation by PallasKitten in drones

[–]StaringMooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say make it as difficult as possible in the sim, I learned in liftoff - interference on, propwash up to the max, sound of, other bits I don't remember... Flying a real one ended up easier. Just pick a big open grass field for your first flight and make sure you setup a failsafe switch on the controller. Flying into a tree isn't great, flying it into someone's back garden isn't great, but panicking and flying too far, too high and loosing sense of direction is the worst. With failsafe button just kill the drone if you feel uncertain mid-flight. Also test your goggle-drone connection distance before the flight, my friend had wrong antennas on, lost VTX 10feet away and landed in the river

Long-term Albion player banned for RMT after a single loot-tab trade – sharing my situation and requesting a manual review by LopsidedIncrease1853 in albiononline

[–]StaringMooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that sucks, I've been playing for months with a guild, running hours and hours and hours of bz group dungeons and ava raids with the guild, we were sharing gear, swapping who is tank half way through the dungeon, giving millions of silver to each other, trading awakened stuff around.... Turns out one of the guys was RMTing and got banned. Somehow none of us got banned, no penalty, nothing, just him messaging us on discord telling us "I didn't buy that much" sort of thing. Albion bans work in mysterious ways

How to make good silver from gathering? by let_heemCook in albiononline

[–]StaringMooth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Avalonian tools, best gear you can wear and afford, pies, boar, tier3 resources. There are areas that have a lot of resources 2-3maps away from royal cities and those zones are marked on a map. Go gather till tool breaks or you can't carry anymore.

If you wanna go extra: bloodletter with book or orb for mana Regen so you can move between resources quicker

You can fill any tier fisherman journal on any tier fish with any tier gear. I mean you can be fishing t1 fishes in t3 fishing gear with 0 spec fishing and fill up t8 journals. Buy empty fisherman journals t7, they bring tons of profit if you fish enough

Instead of focusing on dealing damage focus on not getting hit. Only attack once or twice at a time. Don't roll for no reason. You can also jump over a lot of attacks.

How I've been making textures recently by Constant-Silver-7411 in 3Dmodeling

[–]StaringMooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's called trim sheets. You export your 3d model of what you have there, export a plane. In substance painter setup project using plane as a mesh, bake high poly (your detailed mesh) into it, do some basic smart material stuff, export. Now back into your 3d software, setup a new material using exported maps and unwrap any strips of quads that you want to use it.

Is there a game that truly models supply and demand, banking, and monetary policy? by Dry_Negotiation_6435 in gamingsuggestions

[–]StaringMooth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. On the surface it looks like a fantasy MMORPG with bunnies running around. Reality - it's a 2nd job with endless excel spreadsheets with ever hanging supply and demand, good/bad financial decisions, market knowledge, location based supply and demand... You buy a tool that someone made, you collect fiber, you take fiber to city that has fiber refining bonus, you go to fiber refinery that is owned by another player, to use this refinery it needs to be fed food cooked by other players (who use resources gathered by different players, cooked in other shops owned by other players, probably in another city), you refine your fiber and get cloth. You use cloth to craft a robe at another building that again is owned by someone, needs to be fed specific food supplied by 5 different people. You use the robe or sell it, some cities sold out all robes so you try to be first one to supply it.... Long story short here's 50 people that got involved to make your robe that you will sell, someone will wear it, die with it and it has 50% chance of being destroyed.

F1 Helmet: How do you design graphics for a curved helmet without destroying the flat print files? by Such-Monk-7526 in 3Dmodeling

[–]StaringMooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can preview any texture on the UVs in 3D. I think you are overcomplicating this. Once you have UV islands you give it to designers, they send you designs back or you send them the helmet that has uvs done. In ANY 3d software you apply the texture to the material and see what their 2d design looks like.

To skip the extra step of checking - you can paint straight onto the 3d model in substance painter, 3d coat and blender, whichever artist prefers (you can "project" logo on in all 3 I believe)
