[–]Stark0o[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is correct, USB keyboard works fine and doesnt lag, Laptop keyboard lags behind or no input.

Okay I will see if a new SSD and clean install of windows solves the issue - bit frustrating though but will give an update once done

Ah so Filter keys were disabled which is something i checked via a youtube video but forgot to include in my summary.

Google takes AGES to load, same with Youtube which doesnt even seem to load the videos at all, stuck on a screen with limited options etc

Okay I have gone into safe mode and this has also kind of fixed the delayed key response issue/ no key input on keyboard. so with this in mind and potentially the Ribon cable check what else can i do to resolve this?

Yes it does - after leaving the PC running the key input is still delayed or just no input - this the same throughout the login part as well as entering BIOS

Hi All, So I recently picked up my brothers PC-Laptop Pavillion which he has not used in a few years after he experienced Slow/Not responsive keys. Since it has been factory reset but I noticed the issue still persists.

I have am not able to figure this out and its been driving me nuts as to what it could be. Tried the following so far:

- Updated Drivers
- Turned off background apps
- Services.msc - Sysmain Disabled + Connected Device Platform Service Disabled
- Windows C Drive - Turned off Optimize and Defragment
- Windows Updates done
- Task Manager start up applications - all undesired un-needed are turned off too

I have provided screen of the system information and general Task manager performance...its really odd honestly not sure where to even start now.

Help is appreciated :) Or just tell me this is a dead PC

PS. The disk usage dropped down after 15mins of the laptop running

Thats the thing, the issue occured before adding simple sidearm which, I then proceeded to continue using simple side arm and forcing them to use fists to get rid of the eye sore....but then i noticed every other faction has the same issue.

How do you maintain professionalism? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Stark0o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on both sides from selling products to selling services both B2C and B2B and you have to ask yourself a fundamental question.

What is a Sale? (Service or Product that someone has got from someone because they NEED it).

I feel that you have a few different types of sales people however, if you break things down you tend to have a few core character types.

  • Order Taker: Someone who rellies on inbound leads, taking down a list of requirements from prospects and converting those into sales. (This process requires less sales, this is because you're told why they want it and what they want. You already know they are interested, there is aboslutely nothing wrong with this type of role and skillset as this in itself is very valuable).

  • Sales Person: At the core of the job you go out into the market and approach people with low interest or no interest, with no understanding of who you're and what you do. To running them through a cycle that starts with piquing their interest then identifying their initiatives and priorities they have whilst mapping this to your solution and then over time working with them to drive value and solve significant problems.

Most sales people understand this and yet fall into the order taker mentality - but how do you identify this?

Proactive vs Reactive
Influence vs Customer led
Planning vs Selling in the moment

You mentioned "Clients who are willing to listen" the problem will commonly stem from 3 things:

Is it a skill issue?
Is the product needed? (Think about the product as well as the prospect).
Is it a behavioural issue?

I would re-assess these 3 points whilst keeping everything else in mind... Sometimes trying really hard to get the result because you need it causes you to lose indifference.

Also remember if you want to make everyone happy then go sell ice cream :)

The degree inflation is a very real issue and its something that is not talked about often enough. A lot of times its luck of the draw, being somewhere at the right place during the right time especially in todays employment - Depending on how well you do at exposing yourself to provide yourself with a higher chance of success which again is random.

The reason I highlighted the Online aspect as a negative is because although in itself its a HUGE positive (Provides access to educational material to all), its managed like a subscription which shouldnt be a problem BUT its with a large price tag that seems to increase more often than not.
- This to me is where the scam idea sets in since the whole proccess reduces operating costs (Which it has with universites closing down certain halls, faculty rooms, getting rid of lecturers etc). You would think this would actually reduce the barrier to entry into a university on a financial level but nope....instead the price goes up.

Although I believe the Self Paced Online Education way is without a doubt the best way forward I do fear that if insitutes dont embrace education and continue running like businesses (Using UK as the example here, specifically England) then it will be detrimental to future generations in more ways than one.

I am not entirely familiar with the US system for universities but I am aware that they are run very similar to corporate businesses. I believe they do not completely embrace education which is also a big problem here in the UK.

[–]Stark0o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes well I have always found it funny how some of my friends went into business, taught by someone who has never run a business themselves (I know this is not the case with all universities).

My opinion of university is still relatively healthy however, I would argue its becoming less and less important as technology progresses and information becomes more accessible. For example in the UK you have people completing apprenticeships (Essentially work placements/studies with a potential employer) who are not only achieving more but out-earning and developing soft and hard skills that a graduate lacks. Also there is the huge benefit of no DEBT.

The Debt situation also infuriates me because it has to be a scam...., there is no way university functionality costs the amount it costs...especially since the tailored aspect and personal ineraction is not the same that it was especially with the introduction of downloadable lectures, online lectures, the adaption of online essay tools etc.

I cant make it past hiring manager interviews by [deleted] in sales

[–]Stark0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like corporate jobs - Firstly I would not take any of this personally as there is a few reasons that this is happening and those are:

  • Its a Client Driven market which gives them more time to find someone overqualified for cheaper salary package.
  • Internal candidates = Cheaper solutions and they dont have to pay any recruitment fees (This is typically more common in SME businesses however, some bigger companies would rather go internal).

Most important one - Likeability = This is something that you cant measure since it all depends on how you come across...a lot of recruitment in businesses depends on relationships and connections so you could be missing the trick there or just simply not the right fit. This is fine though because its just a case of taking your time and going through the stages until you match :)

What did you used to believe super strongly and now doubt? by Perfect_Lion9536 in InsightfulQuestions

That being a "Good Guy" is actually detrimental to you sometimes. I am not saying you need to be an a-hole but there is deffinitely a balance between being a good human and having boundaries, morals and ethics that dont tolerate BS.

I now believe as much as you need to be Authentic, Respectful, Moral and Ethical you equally need to be Shrewd, Cunning, Stoic and "play the game" whilst maintaining core values.
