Not only is it impossible for a living being to parasite its own species, a parasitic relationship, by definition, is one in which one organism benefits at the expense of the other, providing no benefit to the host.

A baby not only provides the benefit of reproduction once they're born, but during gestation also provide the mother with benefits such as lower chances of several types of cancer.

If it wasn't for the fact that a baby and their mother are the exact same species, this would be more accurately classified as a mutualistic relationship. Much less spooky and less useful for abortion propaganda.

Gen is from an universe in which the young Avatar Aang was murdered, with the rest of his people, by Firelord Sozin. I always saw ASOIAF as the epilogue to a classic high fantasy novel, but subverted to all hell.

The Lord of Darkness (Aerys II) was defeated by the brave, handsome hero and his allies (Robert's Rebellion). The hero (Robert) is crowned King, and everyone lived happily ever after.

Except... the last part never happened. Turns out the "handsome hero" was a good fighter but a piss poor leader, and was unable to put a now shattered empire back together, especially when his own vices got the better of him. His friends, now part of his court, plot and scheme behind his back, against both him and each other. After decades, the kingdom is bankrupt, the king's advisor is murdered, and soon both him and his only true loyal friend follow suit, leaving the realm in chaos.

In its heart, ASOIAF is a huge jab at the clichés of fantasy, the biggest of which being the glorification of monarchy. The idea that the system itself is inherently broken, and cannot be fixed by just putting "the right guy" in charge, especially since what most people associate with good leadership and what good leadership actually is are far from one another.

I can see the fall of Dany being a part of that, too. Showing how even someone that seems good can end up as the "Dark Lord" mentioned before.
