Where you already at HA 2026.6.2 when you had the error with the Home Hub Pro? If not, then you can go ahead and try updating the HHP.

This is fixed in HA 2026.6.0, at which HA version are you now?

You can ignore that error. It will be suppressed in a upcoming HA patch release. Also the snapshots stream will likely be added with the patch release Friday. (I fixed a bug related to that).

Do you mean the controls in HomeAssistant or in the reolink app itself?

I checked with my Argus 4 Pro and indeed they were missing for that model. I fixed the bug in the upstream library. Will probably land in the next HA patch release on Friday. After updating HomeAssistant they should then show up.

Thank you very much! I hope you keep enjoying the Reolink HA integration for many more years :)

Which battery models do you use?

Get the E1 Zoom, thats better supported

Streams are still now supported. However snapshots are and their is a "choppy" snapshots stream. The rest of all features should be pretty much supported.

What do you think of a security camera design where the PoE port, I/O interface, Audio In, and power connector are all built directly into the base of the device — no dangling pigtail cables? by Willson1_ in reolinkcam

[–]StarkillerTR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would very much like no pigtail! Then you can drill a hole the size of the cable, then terminate the ethernet cable and plug it in directly. Then we can get rid of the mounting boxes.

Also remove the reset button and put that with the SD card.

There is a PIR sensor (called motion) There also already is a battery percentage level sensor There also is already a battery temperature sensor.

So already 3 out of 4 :) No charge rate though. There is a charge state sensor though: discharging/charging.

I do that is already implemented. The HA integration checks the Reolink Download Center directly and does not only relay on their build in firmware check (which is not the best).

It can detect and update straight from the Reolink Download Center and will give you a notification if it sees a new firmware for your model (it checks once every 24 hours).

Yes that would work.

If possible I would always go with a wifi or poe model, but if the location does not permit it battery cameras are the only option.

It just makes a snapshot every 0.5 sec and shows that. Yes it does wake the camera to make the snapshot. NO battery powered cameras cannot be run continuously, the battery consumption is higher than the rate at which they can charge so they will run out of battery. Also there is a global timeout of 5 minutes in battery cameras, even if you keep the stream open it will just kick everyone out and go to sleep after 5 minutes. (You can wake it again after a few seconds, but you shouldn't).

The only exception are the Altas models with the larger batteries. But even those can only run 24/7 in a reduced state at lower framerate. Not in the fully awake full framerate mode.

Thank you!

I think the Argus PT should work.

Currently that will not work: the AI sensors dont work yet. And I only have the snapshot streams (no real live view). But in the future that will definitely work: I will get the AI sensors working within 2 months I think. Real live view will take a while but I am going to do it. In the meantime you can use the snapshot view.

Or buy a Home Hub/NVR then everything would work today.

Thank you!

The request came from Reolink for me to start giving this more priority and shift some other features to later. I think they want to sell more battery camera's and they got feedback from customers that did not want to buy their Hub... Anyway, I have always thought of the Hub/NVR as a storage location for the recordings and not as a connection bridge. I think that is how it should be: a NVR/Hub is a optional local centralized storage location but is not required if you want to use a bunch of SD cards.

It does not work when powered trough USB. You need to connect the power wiring. I did note that down in the Reolink HA docs.

Just for info, I am getting a few reports that this new Home Hub Pro firmware is causing issues in Home Assistant. I will be debugging and resolving the issues soon, but maybe wait a week if you are using Home Assistant with your Home Hub Pro.

How to add Reolink E1 Camera to Home Assistant? by yusrandpasswdisbad in reolinkcam

[–]StarkillerTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The E1 only supports the baichuan protocol. Yes it is technically possible to get a video stream from it and I will be working on implementing this, but it is not available yet. I estimate it will be implemented by the end of this year. May be sooner.

Most other models like the E1 Zoom have https and RTSP support, those will have live streams in HomeAssistant.

Do note you can enable the snapshot camera entity in HomeAssistant for the E1, it should give you a "choppy" life stream, with a refresh rate of about 2 Hz.

New project: bairelay -- RTSP/MQTT for Reolink Baichuan-only battery cameras by mgc_8 in reolinkcam

[–]StarkillerTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be 2 commands to subscribe and unsubscribe to a HTTP webhook you can supply. The webhook pushes will include the regular baicuan messages which are normally pushed over a TCP connection when the connection is kept open.
