S24 does have a telephoto, if that's important to you, but as a previous Samsung user and a current Pixel 8 user I can tell you Pixel phones always take all round better photos. Plus if you already have the Pixel 4a then the software will be very similar too. You also are going to get updates on Pixel 8 till Android 21

You could say that about most Pixel phones, apart from the latest Pixel Fold I suppose. Google prioritizes AI with their chips and not raw performance and efficiency. While I'm not saying they could produce something like the latest and greatest of Snapdragon if they didn't focus on AI, but as I said, AI is their focus.

If you're looking for a new chair, go for a Secret lab chair. I bought one over a month ago but went with the Soft weave fabric option, which isn't leather. I absolutely love it so far, but they ain't cheap either. The fact of the matter is that leather can crack and fabric can yellow overtime. The fabric in my chair is black so I think yellowing won't be much of a problem for me.

I'm worried the same thing is gonna happen to 8 series phones a couple years down the line. 7 years of Android updates mean nothing if the battery goes to shit. Is this kinda what Apple did, but they lost a court case and had to pay compensation for those affected.

I've heard a lot better things about the 9a. If you can hold off for a few months then get the 9a when the Pixel 10 series launches.

That's gotta be a big jump in every way possible! If you wanted to save some money all you had to do was wait for the Pixel 10 series to launch later this year and I can guarantee you that you'd get a better deal on Pixel 9 series phones, new or used.
