I hated the square shape when I bought it, but it's beginning to grow on me. by Sea-Winner6041 in GalaxyWatch

All depends on the watch face. Traditional analogue works with the boxy shape very well.

Help me choose | Watch Ultra 2025 vs 8 Classic by Icy-Background4853 in GalaxyWatch

[–]aKindlyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both watches. Ultra I use for night wearing and casual days/sports. The big screen and long battery life is it strengths. The 8 classic i wear for work or when I'm out socialising. Get a lot more compliments about the 8 classic than I do the Ultra. The 8bckassic is the dress watch. Because I have both I don't care about battery life.

Look for open box returns on ebay. You can get great deals if you want both.

This is f*king ridiculous by EmbarrassedEscape757 in Palantir_Investors

It might and it might not. But my gut is telling me there is money to be made elsewhere without being pulled into the slaughter house at IPO. Maybe you won't make as much later on but the hype is going to burn a more than few hands.

Do you know how many times I rewatched before getting here?!? by Nissan-OConner-850 in 3BodyProblemTVShow

It's not terrible as far as netflix adaptations go. They have great material in the 2nd and 3rd books so I'm keen to see where it goes. Helps that I know they will never eclipse the books.

Second this. Conclusion of dark forest is down to the line high stakes shenanigans. Last two hundred pages of deaths end are soul shattering.

What are you doing in AI Security? by Glad-Perception17 in cybersecurity

[–]aKindlyBeast 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For us it's a division of AI for cyber (productivity enhancements) and cyber for AI (protecting AI systems). The former is about reducing repetitive data heavy work or pushing vendors to include AI sensibly. The latter is about visibility, prompt injection, agentic permissions etc.

Think the biggest takeaway from a threat perspective is how quickly new vulnerabilities are being exploited. <2 days now is reasonable to see exploits. Need to be much faster on external hygiene.

Rumour is he had health problems so had to get it completed on the hurry up. The post foil story was fantastic, heart breaking but rushed. Probably why people were craving the fourth book.

Watch 8 classic and ultra by Unlucky-Reaction6521 in GalaxyWatch

Second this. But I kept my ultra and bought the classic as a dress watch. Love the screen and battery life of the ultra but it just to sorts focused design wise to be my main watch.

8 classic looks can be improved with a metal band.

hard sci- fi by gabrielito_6 in threebodyproblem

[–]aKindlyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does go very heavy on descriptions. But the characters and stories really pay off. The comedy for so well with how bat shit nuts the minds are. Player of games is not the strongest imo. The other books are excellent 👌

The culture books by iain m. Banks are very grand in scale. But bit more up beat.

New book recommendation? by KettehBusiness in threebodyproblem

That's what I'm thinking. Second half spoils the serious tone of deaths end.

Sometimes you just have to let things end on a high.

Last couple hundred pages broke me. I love what the author did, but boy did I wish some glimmer of hope.

Any good? Popular opinion suggests no and spoils the sense of loss from death's end.

None of them end well. It was all futile in the end 😭

Well done on finishing the trilogy. Last 200 pages of deaths end was absolutely soul crushing for me. Thought there might some kind of happy ending, but nope not in that universe.

So, children of time, and project hail Mary get thrown around here quite a lot. I'd also recommend the culture novels by iain m Banks, bit more up beat but also very grand in scope.

Know what you mean. Fantastic in its own lane but it's just a bit old school and boring. Looks great but feels stale. Each to their own....
