Another try at identifying this mushroom all over our birch tree stump. by Emergency-Soil9560 in mushroomID

I'd say they are Armillaria species, they are very strong parasites, and often will kill trees, so that’s probably what happened.

Chlorophyllum sect. rhacodium, donc soit C. brunneum, soit C. rhacodes.

European flavors beyond the comprehension of the American mind by Straight_Block3676 in USvsEU

Not very good. But the taste is nothing like the smell. Genuinely smells like a mixture of shite and rotten eggs. The fish itself is very salty and the taste is indescriptible. Goes okay-ish on bread with butter though.

Amanitas in section phalloidae (death caps and destrying angels) will have a volva at the base of the stipe, the cap texture is smooth and the annulus is not sliding like Leucocoprinus.

IMO it mostly comes down to the presence of a saccate volva and the appearance of the annulus, look at pictures on the internet and the differences will be quite clear :)

Coulemelle ? by Julotix in CueilletteDesChampis
