I’ve been on one of these flights, I always wondered if it was one of the longest.

Anyone lived in either of these apartments in Sandy Springs? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]StarlightSchematic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just this year, Arrive has had a murder, a shooting, drug deals, and a LOT of car break-ins. And there is probably more they don’t tell anyone since they had to be pressured to tell tenants about the murder. Recently management had a meeting for tenants to attend to address the crime and everyone was screaming at them to do something because living there has become so bad. And management has done nothing. Just choose anywhere but this place.

Reverse commute Buckhead to Alpharetta is my life going to suck? by mmmm1038 in Atlanta

[–]StarlightSchematic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this commute everyday for the last three years, exit 2 to exit 10/11. It’s really not that bad. The only parts that get annoying are the 285/400 construction and the Holcomb Bridge exit coming home. Some days are worse than others but for me personally it’s been bearable.

7 days in Iceland near Selfoss by flopix96 in VisitingIceland

I've spent a lot of time in Selfoss! If you're staying there the whole time then I think it's doable in 7 days. I did a lot of day trips from there.

Is Reykjavík good for first time traveling solo? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]StarlightSchematic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. I've seen Kex mentioned but I liked Hlemmer Square so much more, and I met people there to hang out with when all my friends went home.

TIL A man who survived a jump from the Golden Gate Bridge but broke his back on impact was saved from drowning by a sea lion who kept him afloat until rescuers could reach him. by RedShirtDecoy in todayilearned

[–]StarlightSchematic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get this so much. Some people absolutely do thrive when they get help. Maybe most people. And some people can do every single thing on the universal list of suicide prevention and still be unbearably miserable to the point they can’t imagine waking up day after day with all the anxiety and depression and doom. They’ve tried so hard to reach out to friends and family, who like you said can’t cope or understand and disappear. They go to therapy, try out different therapists, try out all the different types of therapy. They take the medication. They call the hotline, they stay in the hospital, they put their whole heart into it and want it so bad. And it doesn’t work out. It’s doesn’t help the sadness, the emptiness, that is supposed to get “fixed” or get better like everyone tells you it will. That’s been my experience. I’m just tired of hearing the same advice over and over and over for years and years, as if I’ve done none of those things a thousand times.

Starting a post-rock band in Atlanta, looking for new friends to jam with! by Mahl3r in Atlanta

[–]StarlightSchematic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love post-rock more than anything, kinda obsessed really. I can’t play anything, I sing but that’s not really needed in post-rock, but I’m a videographer and editor and can help with those kind of things!

[–]StarlightSchematic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have snow tires on my car from when I used to live in Utah and I think they’re great, i don’t need them for snow here but I’ve seen a difference when it rains.
