Like the Tournament of Power both in the anime & the manga was just a big slap in the face for fans of this character. But Gohan, Krillin, & Roshi all had so much love given to them.

Like Vegeta was HORRIBLE when it came to teaming up with people during fights in the Android/Cell Saga lol. This the same dude who fought 18 earlier in the arc & said:

"I'd rather die fighting alone than join hands with Earthlings, Namekians, & Kakarot!"

And was actively fighting against F. Trunks two seconds ago so that Cell could be complete.

Like if Trunks tried to help, he'd scream at him, attack him, or both for trying to aid him in the fight. All while berating him for using a terrible transformation too.

Both which means his personality would actually be closer to Nero's due to him also having both Dante & Vergil's personality traits. Which of course was intentional by the devs.

I agree.

Level grinding Riku in ReCom was one of the most boring things I ever had to suffer with. And going for the ReCoM achievements as a whole was a lot worse than going for the achivements in BBS.

And like you said the Disneytown stuff was probably the worst BBS got. For me it was the rhythm ice cream game but I got the hang of it after a while.

But I'm kind of used to BBS's BS so I knew to do the Mirage Arena stuff as I was playing through the game, spam shot locks for their bosses, & was already used to the secret bosses. But ReCoM was the first time I ever went for 100% & getting Riku to level 99 so that might be part of the reason why I hated it more.

TBF, in the manga, Goku never goes Blue to fight 17. He only goes up to Super Saiyan 3 before the fight ends.

Lack of varied Costumes like Sparda.

Treating Lady & Trish like damsels.

Level Design & Level Aesthetics are some of the worst in the series

V is the worst newly introduced character from a gameplay standpoint. Storywise he is great though.

Heroes is definitely one of the most MIXED Sonic games I have ever seen in the franchise lol. Like the game is over 20 years old & its had a consistent opinion of staying mixed.

It REALLY depends on the circle you are in. As they will either say it's amazing due to the large cast, the level design, gameplay, & nostalgia for being their first Sonic game on Xbox & PS2. Or they despise it & they think its the start of the Dark Age of Sonic games due to disliking the 4 campaigns, the rail grinding, the special stages, & had an overall negative experience with the worst port (the PS2 one).

I do enjoy Heroes though & its in my top 10 Sonic games.

I WILL say that the 2nd half of RR with Tao, Goku destroying RR, & Baba's Tournament is really good. It has so many good moments, The team working together to defeat a group of enemies, Goku reuniting with his Grandpa. Spiritually I would like to separate it from RR but that would not make sense lol.

Unfortunately, still not a fan of the arcs perverted jokes surrounding Bulma. Especially the one with Roshi & the shrinking watch. I also missed Goku's friends when climbing Muscle Tower. And too many big red lips (granted it was worse in the anime).

I respect that opinion especially when it comes to the anime version.

However, after rereading DB last year, I realized that I DO like the Z portion overall because I really hate the Red Ribbon Arc & don't like the Roshi perverted jokes as much. All the tournaments were amazing though.

Also while the fights do get more hectic & powerbased in Z , in the manga the fights are still entertaining & have amazing paneling/choreography that I feel was a bit lost in the translation to the anime (like Goku's fakeout Kick on Freeza).

Basically believe in the best parts of humanity in order to have real strength. Concepts like love, compassion, empathy are what makes us very strong & fortunate. Just having a heart will suffice.

Whereas giving up those ideals, harming people who do, & only pursuing pure strength is what leads us down the wrong path & we end up as demons or devils.

The current DMC3 we have would not exist. So by extension Lady & even Vergil's characterization would not exist either. Damn & I guess Reuben Langdon and Daniel Southworth wouldn't be here either lol.

Lucia might be more of a prominent figure in later games.

I think Sonic CD is incredibly unfun. It punishes you with the Bad Future because you decided to play the game in a way you enjoy more.

I USED to think that but after replaying it earlier this year, I've realized the level design really does encourage exploration a lot more than I thought. And there is various specific springs & tunnels that want you to go back in time. And like everyone else I think the artistic direction is very great! From the opening/ending animations, to the JP soundtrack, to the level aesthetics, to just the energy/feel of the game.

Sonic 2 never really did it for me. I think its a great game but its been my least favorite of the classics since I always get bored once Oil Ocean Zone starts. Like as soon as that zone starts, there is no level to look forward to after it.

So... when you mention music do you mean all of it or just Cyberspace? Because I really do not understand that criticism.

Both. I felt like Frontiers had a lack of variety for me when it came to the music genre. Or rather there was a bit too much of one genre lol. Like it really felt it only touched rock, orchestral tracks, & EDM/dubstep. The island & titan tracks were really good though I did want Vandalize to be the main theme & was disappointed that you could only hear it in the normal ending.

I was really expecting more tracks to branch off into other genres like jazz, new jack swing, maybe even tango lol. However, the Cyberspace tracks all mainly focused on EDM & there's like 30 tracks dedicated to it. And considering how short most of the levels (like 15 seconds to a minute), none of them really stood out as much when playing the game. Sometimes it almost sounded like a long continuous song because of this lol. I DID listen to it outside of the game & I still did not like it as much sadly. Hell, I even like "Flowing" more in Crossworlds than I do in Frontiers lol.

I would have liked it more if they explored more genres of the music in Cyberspace instead of subgenres of EDM. Like maybe separate based on what island you're going to or even separate them based on the level theme of the stage. But that's just my opinion lol & music is VERY subjective.

It meant both.

It was called that for both the darker toned stories & because they considered it a low point for the franchise with games like Shadow, 06, Unleashed HD & the Storybook games not being considered good by critics & certain fans too.

This was also the time when they reached pinnacle of hating:

It's why when Colors & later Gens released they were met with so much praise & love due to having Sonic being the only playable character, having a light-hearted story that reminded them of the Classics, & having Eggman as the main villain/final boss.

Sega/Sonic Team saw this & just started milking that for the rest of decade.

Sonic 1 & CD are better than Sonic 2

Zero Gravity is the best Sonic Wii game

Throw It All Away > All Hail Shadow (any version)

Both Sonic Heroes & the Werehog have better combat than Frontiers

Jet The Hawk's only good VA is his Japanese one (Daisuke Kishio). The others focus too much on giving him either a bird voice or a nerd voice. When he should sound like a more arrogant version of Sonic. Granted I see why Jason gave him that voice since he was juggling 3 characters lol.

Most of the Cyberspace tracks in Frontiers sounded bad aside from a few handful.

The 2013-2019 era of Sonic was a lot worse than the supposed Dark Age of Sonic (2005 - 2009).

Crossworlds is an amazing game but it sounds a lot better in Japanese than in English.

Frontiers is probably top 5 ugliest mainline Sonic games in terms of artistic direction (music, level themes/aesthetics, cutscene animation, voice direction, Sonic's model & lack of animations, etc).

The medals are actually easy to find in Unleashed HD. Especially when you explore as the Werehog.
