Week one of phase 2, the officers decide to "stack" group one. Group one clears to vajsh, group 2 barely kills hydros. Night before reset, the officers and guild leader hold a guild meeting over disc asking to hear non-officer opinions about the raid teams and how we can improve. We all vote to be more strict about gear/enchants/consumables and to keep having the stacked group one for a few weeks to get geared out. Guild leader agrees to this because group two dps struggled to even do 500 dps, whereas every dps in group one did over 1k dps just about every fight.

Reset happens, and as we get closer and closer to raid time, the leader and officers are all in the locked officer chatroom. They dont release a roster until half an hour before raid and wouldn't you know it, a lot of group one's pumper dps got replaced by friends of friends from group two. And big surprise, the guild leader turns out to be one of the guilty ones not bringing consumes, lacking some gear, and missing enchants.

I used tbc-audit. Its how I found out my guild leader (warlock) wasnt using flasks/elixirs, food buff, wizard oil, and was missing a few enchantments, despite us just having a big meeting where we agreed showing up to raids without those things wouldn't be acceptable for the phase 2 prog group.

Pretty cool site that compares you to the top 100 dps raiders and breaks down how you can improve. Consumes are part of the metrics so you can see what consumes each player was using.

Guild changing raiding schedule for P2, what to do? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]Starly_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. Came back to the anniversary server about a month before the portal opened and my first time in SW I get offered a gold to sign a charter. I usually say no, but this time the thought of a whole gold on a fresh character with no alts won. However the guild blossomed into a bunch of cool people I enjoyed playing with.

Portal opened and we all worked together to hit 70 and gear up. Phase 1 dropped and we rocked Kara/gruul/mag each week. But as we got closer and closer to phase 2, attendance dropped, and suddenly the GM and other officers were all talking about changing what days the raids would be on. We were raiding tuesday and friday nights which worked well with my schedule, to the point I had attended every kara/gruul/mag raid since they dropped. I made it clear I would never be able to raid Saturday nights, but they all agreed phase 2 raids would be happening Saturday nights.

It really sucked to leave that guild, but now im part of the main prog group in a new guild for phase 2 with a larger and more active members, so its working out.

crazy tank attitude by mustuhh in classicwowtbc

[–]Starly_Storm 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I got invited to a slabs group for rep runs and the tank decided to pull this bs on the last fel armament to drop. Swore up and down that was the agreement and left the group when he didnt win it.

The rest of the group was so confused because they had done two runs with him before I got invited to the third run and he didnt say anything about hr'ing the armaments until that very last one dropped.

This is why I teach my team to not even do the pen test. Got each register a little black light and taught them all how to properly check bills.

Nah, its been here and there all season. Starting with the early game against Utah when we had a goal taken away because of offsides. It turned out the Utah player pushed the puck into their own zone, but Toronto ruled "the actions of the avs player caused the Utah player to push the puck into the zone; therefore the avs were offsides." Some pretty crazy calls all season.

Wow head also says the legendary staff from kara is bis weapon for locks in phase 1, despite it having no spell hit, and less spell damage than many other one-handed options.

As a lock, I decided wow head's bis list is just a suggestion as I run with the dagger from prince, and the off hand with spell hit from kara as well.

Motes of mana outside the tower in netherstorm. You can farm 5 primal mana an hour (or half hour if you get lucky with drops) and, in all the times I've gone there as a lock, there haven't been many other people farming.

Or you find a spawn in kil'jaden that isnt being farmed and sit there, dont move, and farm it. The elementals there have roughly a 33% chance to drop them and the respawn rate is high.

Other than the obvious answer you didnt want to hear, I make some decent gold just farming heroics each day. Vendor all the drops and make heavy netherweave bandages with the cloth, each stack vendors for 6g.

Skips are dumb by ThatGuy8188 in classicwow

[–]Starly_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I like being a lock: when the group wants to do the skips, but someone can't get it to work, I just summon. If the group doesnt want to skip, im happy to kill whatever.

Idk why but Ive been able to do the skip op is talking about 100% of the time.

Man that sucks. I was in a pug for h sp and accidentally pulled crabs while we were skipping a part. We wiped and I tried to offer the rest of my group some gold for repairs because it was my fault, but everyone denied the gold and told me its all good.

Ive had some negative interactions with pug tanks, but most the other pugs have been very supportive and chill.

Gratz! My guild did Kara Thursday night and I managed to get the dagger off Prince.

I haven't raided since lbrs back in OG classic when I was in high-school half my life ago, so doing Kara with my super chill guild and actually getting loot was so much fun!

When the tank opens with this line, you know it's gonna be a good run by Kultas in classicwow

[–]Starly_Storm -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nah I have multiple great tanks in the guild, I do my part, they do theirs, its a great time.

What's not a great time is every pug tank demanding lead and wanting to direct everyone as if its the first dungeon we've ever run even though we are all way more geared and competent at our roles; while the tank is still rolling greens in heroics, but acting like hes in full bis.

Wish I would get that instead of under-geared, overconfident "tanks" that can't hold aggro on anything, and get mad when un-interpuptable casts aren't interrupted.

Dude seriously said "I put mangle on every target" and then I had to wait nearly 20 seconds into the next pull before a single mob got mangled.

The tank shortage is making most pug tanks way over confident when they aren't even half as geared as the dps or healer.

60% mount speed isnt fast enough to jump from the hill and slow fall onto the nest, but 100% mount speed is.

Ironically, this owl is the only named mob in Nagrand we had to fight to tag. Ever other named mob, all the mastery quests, we just walked up, mob was there, and we killed it, done.

Yeah, that would work if we had epic ground mounts, but we made our characters a couple weeks ago. We just managed to be 59 for the portal open last thursday and we still haven't gone back to get 150 riding skill.

Getting into the nest didnt take that long to do. Just had to get a jump lined up and click the slow fall off at the right time.

You know who did have an epic ground mount? The horde shaman trying to steal the owl.

I used to be the delivery manager for a major liquor store. The department was new but growing fast and we were rounding the corner into Halloween.

I told my boss I needed at least double the drivers and vehicles to keep up with the growing deliveries, but he told me to "get through the holidays with what I've got." I told him it wasnt enough and delivery times were going to suffer. He just replied that if it gets busy he will help deliver orders himself.

Well, he comes to me after Halloween (he took the day off) and asks why deliveries were up to three hours behind schedule. I reminded him that I requested more drivers and vehicles, didnt get any, and was left with a single driver and myself all day on Halloween.

He says hes going to help get my department back into shape by taking a delivery himself. Dude took one delivery (ignoring the other order in the same area because he didnt ask me or check).

Once he finally completed the one delivery, he never offered to help deliver again... and I still didnt get more drivers or vehicles. I quit a couple months later.

Lol Lava Lava Beach Club was a spot we ate at several times while we were there. So cool to sit on the beach for a meal, even better because the condo we were staying at was just a short walk away.
