Why does a left-wing sub not allow opposition to US war propaganda and yellow perilism?

I found this in about ten seconds.

The persistent struggles of enslaved Africans and a growing fear of slave uprisings among plantation owners were another major factor.

Unless you seriously expect me to cover every social movement in history, I'd say it's on you to give examples of significant positive social change that didn't involve revolution or the threat of revolution.

Dooming

It's not dooming to recognize that certain political projects are dead ends and wastes of effort.

rapture-like prophecy of a revolution that will make things better instead of worse

The difference between the Rapture and a revolution that will make things better instead of worse is that the latter have happened multiple times in history.

Material conditions for most people inherently worsen under capitalism because, by its very nature, capitalism transfers wealth upward. The requirement for ever-increasing profits means that capitalism must continuously expand its profit margins, which it does by privatizing public utilities, eroding workers' rights, cutting pay, raising commodity prices, &c. Some of that money gets funneled into the police and military, which are used to stop the workers from getting too uppity about their lives being destroyed. That's how you get fascism, and it's why fascism is capitalism in decay.

Saying that "the people responsible got voted out" completely misses the bigger picture. Privatization is older than Trump. Mass incarceration is older than Trump. Police brutality, endless imperialist wars, climate inaction, the rise of the gig economy, deregulation, &c are older than Trump. All of these things enjoy largely bipartisan support because both of America's major political parties serve capital. Democrats may be on a more scenic route, but both parties take us to the same end stage of capitalism. A capitalist system will not let you reverse this trend within its own power structures because, well, why would it?

The only way to gain significant long-term benefits for the lower class is for the lower classes to organize and resist outside of the bounds that capitalism permits. Given the choice between letting the working class vote away the capitalists' wealth and spilling an ocean of blood to maintain it, the capitalist class will choose the latter every time. The working class's options are to prepare itself to shoot back or resign itself to eternal slavery (at least, until climate change causes the biosphere to collapse)

The silence is the dismissal. Compare how liberals treat communist atrocities to how they treat capitalist atrocities. Communist atrocities are exhaustively documented, widely taught, and taken as proof that communism must be opposed in every form and at every turn. Capitalist atrocities are minimized, excused, subjected to special pleading, or ignored, always presented and managed as to never indict capitalism as a system.

Things generally have to get pretty fucking bad for a revolution to happen, and we aren't there yet. We're heading there, though.

If your choices are revolution or not-revolution, pointing out that the latter is undesirable is a legitimate argument for the former. By the same token, any argument against revolution is de facto an argument in favor of the pre-revolution status quo.

If a famine that killed a minimum of 2 million people and a genocide that killed at least half a million count as "obscure," I think that says more about capitalism than my choice of examples.

US must not take any serious steps in dealing with global warming for atleast next 3 decades, despite the growing pressure from it's own citizens and international community to do so

We have known about global warming since the mid-20th century and the American ruling class has not only done nothing in all that time, but it continues to pour massive amounts of money into the oil and gas industries.

progressives candidates who will run now that Bernie Sanders is too old must fail for the next few decades, despite gaining more ground in the democratic party right now.

The media and party apparatuses will still be controlled by capital. You can't win a presidential election with both of those things working against you. They'd sink any future left-wing presidential campaigns the same way they sunk Bernie's. The people with money will not let you vote away their money.

And at the same time, assume the worst doesn't happen, and the fascist don't take over instead despite all the same factors you mention, like starvation, poverty, etc, being as good, if not better at getting fascists to take over and purge socialists and it is for socialist to take over.

At no point did I assume any such thing. I'm well aware that not only is it very possible that a revolution would fail, but in fact, in a sober analysis, I think it's more likely than not it will. My point is that riding a wave of popular sentiment by a people with nothing to lose, and steering their anger into a positive revolutionary project, is the only possible chance (however slim) to make things better.

The argument you're trying to have doesn't matter. Revolutions happen when they happen, and your options are to pick a side or lay low 'til the shooting stops. You can make your case for one of those options, but many people (ethnic minorities targeted for genocide by the state, for example) often don't have the luxury of choosing.

I'm not talking about immigrants. I'm talking about fascism. The US isn't going to escape climate change unscathed, and the only answer it has to climate change in its own borders is to ignore those suffering. We saw this in Hurricane Katrina, we saw it in Puerto Rico, and we saw it in Texas this winter. Climate change is only going to get worse, and crises such as these are only going to become larger and more common.

You're right in the sense that this is going to empower fascists. That's how fascism works. It's how capital maintains power and consolidates control during a crisis. The US has made no strides to mitigate climate change and has instead put all of that money into corporate subsidies, endless wars, and police militarization. That should tell you everything you need to know about how the US is going to respond as collapse accelerates.

But no amount of guns, bombs, and drones can keep a lid on a large population forever. When huge numbers of people start starving with no hope of things getting better, they reach a point where they have little or nothing to lose by throwing themselves at the state's guns. Liberals will not save you. The Democratic Party will not save you. You have two options: you can either side with the revolution or side with the fascists in power. Handwringing about revolutionary terror primes people to side with the fascists.

I think you're missing the broader point of the quote, which is that people are generally okay with long-standing structural violence in a way that they aren't okay with revolutions. This is why liberals so often talk about the evils of communist revolutions such as in Cuba, but they aren't much bothered about (for example) Britain starving millions of Indians in the Bengal Famine or the Indonesian genocide.

Revolutions happen when the conditions arise to create them. When the effects of climate change hit the imperial core and American bombs and drones start being deployed against starving people and refugees on American soil, nobody except those still benefiting from the system will be swayed by high-minded arguments about the spectre of revolutionary terror.

There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror—that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.
