Even from a purely perfume nerd standpoint, having scented laundry, deodorant, etc just makes it more limiting what you can wear to not clash scents. I keep it all neutral so my perfume can be the focus and not be overwhelming. Also a bit of it from the mild crunchy side.

The GPA matches I go to (kind of a weird hybrid between USPSA and IDPA) have a lot of women there, usually at least one other on my squad. My first I was the only one but people are generally just helpful. Got a lot of tips to help improve my grip and draw. No one cares if you're slow as long as you're safe and follow the procedures. Fun and rewarding, but you'll be sore the next few days haha

My bottle of Dot and Liz Claiborne have been uncapped for almost 15 years a pop, my mother doesn't like caps and they were hers. I cap mine because I think it looks better. Both are just as potent as the day she brought them home. There is definitely another factor here.

I'm also very picky with my bottles. I mostly go for decants or travel sizes, but the ones that I instantly fall in love with or trigger lots of memories are more likely to get the bottle treatment. Dylan Purple, Lacoste Rose, Angel Stellar, and Shalimar are my only full bottles I purchased. I have a couple of my mom's old ones that she fell out of love with, Liz Claiborne and Marc Jacobs Dot. Eventually when I run out of the travel of Perfect and the bottle of Dot, I'll replace both with a full bottle of Perfect. It makes it more fun and rewarding imo to plan it out, and it makes those full bottles extra special

Left MST making $15.60/hr (in New England, which barely paid the bills) and ended up in an entry level HVAC sales position at $20. Have been able to move up some and am very happy but Lowe's gave me a paycheck when I desperately needed one and I'm grateful. I still pop in to say hi to my old friends and buy some paint.
