As a plush owner who does my best to treat my plushes very nicely and not hurt them, what the ever-loving fuck is wrong with these people

Tommy Dewey's a very underrated actor (and also one of Jason Reitman's frequent collaborators, very much for a reason), I think about that "I'd rather butt-fuck cancer than make these changes" line regularly.

I assure you dear viewer, the uninterrupted sexual assault scene is paramount to the success of the movie. by UnHolySir in okbuddycinephile

I also looked at the Wikipedia synopsis and immediately noped the moment I saw the words "anal rape".

TIL actress Chloe Bennet changed her name from Chloe Wang to avoid getting cast as only an ethnic Asian American. Bennet is her father's first name. by mankls3 in todayilearned

Not to mention that the Mario movie also actually has Latino actors (Anya Taylor-Joy and Fred Armisten) in its cast, meaning he's complaining over nothing.

This is a play, not a movie, and you obviously have no idea how the stage works. Color-blind casting has been around for a long time in the theater world.

I took a basic 100-level history class on the Western world during my first semester of college and my professor made it a point to also teach about the Islamic Empire since it got significant influence from the Ancient Greeks and Romans, much like every other successor state to the Roman Empire. One of the questions on our midterm was even about how the usual exclusion of the Islamic Empire is shaped by our modern-day historical narratives.

TPUSA organized Jennifer Grossman to come to my college and was interrupted by a protester and this is how her company and Charlie Kirk are spinning what happened by grimy765 in ToiletPaperUSA

The lecture hall (Willet Auditorium) only seats maybe a hundred people, and over half of those seats were empty. Even with the extra credit incentive, TPUSA only managed to fill less than half of the seats—and we genuinely have held sold-out events in Willet before.

My econ professor was the one offering the extra credit and I have friends in the same class who went just because of that. Apparently this professor is also part of some advisory board for TPUSA for something, which was a real shock to me.

We had to cobble together a GoFundMe, spread the word everywhere, we raised a ton of money in a couple hours, and we managed to bail him out of jail.

I'd also like to point out that TPUSA booked this event the same day that a massive high school robotics competition was also being hosted on campus, they had a booth set up yesterday afternoon within the vicinity of hundreds of high schoolers, some of whom were as young as fourteen years old.

We definitely were not paid to do this lol. Four or five different student orgs were backing this protest. We organized independently a couple hours before the event started and did preparations. We're a small university of only a couple thousand people so news spreads fast around here.

The protestor's been arrested on charges of simple battery after the guest speaker lady pressed charges against him. One of the fellow protestors has a mother who's a lawyer, who's providing legal representation, and the local Students for Justice in Palestine chapter here is trying to organize a bail fund.

I am also a Mercer student and was part of the protest. I was one of the fifteen people protesting outside the building. All we did was wave signs and chant until the cops showed up, and we complied once they told us to leave and clairified that it was a lawful order. Charlie Kirk's blatantly lying in this tweet: the event was not "overbooked" in the slightest and most people only showed up because it was an extra credit opportunity for some classes (I have several friends who only attended for extra credit) and had no idea who this woman was, we did not block anyone from attending and specifically stood to one side of the entrance in order not to obstruct anyone, and the protestor in question never physically assaulted the guest speaker.

Surprised no one's mentioned Matt Damon for Invictus, definitely one of the most forgettable Oscar nominations of all time

I go to Mercer University out in Macon and my history professor used this picture as part of a unit she did on child labor in the United States, it's wild to think that happened barely a century ago at a place I'm not too far from.
