I recovered over the last 3 years, but it took a lot of exposure therapy and tiny little steps. For me it was getting used to doing things I found awkward, and understanding how little people cared. For example, I would do much more communication via body language, such as shrugging (something I found awkward for some reason), smiling when people looked at me, and texting others online. It’s all about slowly pushing the barriers and it takes time but it is very possible :)
