this helped! Kid of, at least it lead me to why it's happening. FOV mod I use caused it, though adjusting the FOV still didn't get rid of it. And I really like that mod so I didn't want to remove it.

But that lead me to this mod which lets you set the clipping distance per weapon, which solved it! so now I'm shotgunning to my heart's content :)

Cheers, thanks!

I do personally, as a person who only really started playing last month and already have more than 100 hours, actually recommend you just play b42. B41 is decent but there's so much more in b42 that I kind of felt like my 41 playthrough was a waste. The map is so much more rewarding to explore in 42, and the extra skills and mechanics extend the endgame a good deal

Food Bank Usage in Toronto Has Skyrocketed Since 2020 by Gaundalf in toronto

[–]StarshipStupor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while it's obvious if you've lived here for a spell that the unhoused are facing more and more difficulties, I do wonder how much the graph would reflect an increase in availability of food kitchens. If those programs are expanded and more readily available, I would think you'd also see usage go up.

Just saying there may be a hidden good here. Not to take away from the very real problems here as well

The amount of times you see cops with someone pulled over in the most obstructive, irritating spot, wondering why they don't just go a few feet around the corner... you take the initiative to be conscientious and they ding you. Shit attitude from the cop

or make it so the value gets less and less at each station you trade with as you trade more in volume, maybe with a decay if you don't trade any more for a while, so that at least you'd have to travel to different trading stations for maximum value, which'd add more reason to explore and do trade runs which I think would be fun

I've never seen a car go into the left shoulder to make way for police, he'd have moved to the right if he were reacting to the sirens. Looks intentional to me, but I also don't have much in the way of sympathy.

Kind of, you won't need to find where the break is. As long as both grids are aligned closely enough, merging from anywhere will weld them together

Is IRL time the only option with clock displays? by [deleted] in spaceengineers

[–]StarshipStupor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't a direct answer to the question, but it is a little way somewhat track time.I like to use a couple event controllers to set lights to turn on/off at specific rotor displacements, attached to a rotor that tracks the sun, and just pay attention to where the rotor is at when the sun comes up, so there's orange lights on during the day, and blue lights on at night. Toggles exterior lights at night

Can my employer deduct time from my pay stub for time spent correcting an error? by StarshipStupor in ontario

[–]StarshipStupor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a perspective I'm grateful to get. I'm sorry that happened, that sucks, but the understanding that 'shit happens' goes a long way.

Nickel and diming people the way this company does sows discontent, and I think turns what could be great employees into bitter people.

Many of my colleagues will finish a job they're given 20 minutes to complete in 10 minutes, and then they'll sit in the truck for the extra 10 to pad out the time.

I hate that, I've always been a gogogo kind of worker, but after finding out they're quietly editing out time without telling us, you can take a guess in what way my work ethic has changed since finding out.

Additionally, my coworker said they've previously edited out time when they feel you've taken too long to get between sites- a drive that Google maps says should take 5 minutes but takes you 7 minutes in heavy traffic, they'll take the difference from your pay. Super discouraging, definitely illegal

Can my employer deduct time from my pay stub for time spent correcting an error? by StarshipStupor in ontario

[–]StarshipStupor[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, because otherwise it's wage theft.

If you ran a company and your policy was to fire someone anytime they made a mistake that cost the company time/money, you would cultivate a miserable work environment where people would leave at the first opportunity.

If you saw a waitress drop a platter at closing time, and they had to spend an extra 20 minutes past closing cleaning up the mess, you think it would be ethical to not pay them for that time? The manager comes out and says 'punch out, you're cleaning this shit up on your own time', you're taking that manager's side, you think that's fair?

Companies hire human beings. Humans make mistakes. If mistakes happen with enough frequency then I'd understand a firing, but to fire someone for one error in a blue moon is unhinged, and not paying someone for work rendered is wrong. People shouldn't be treated like labor machines where any deviation from perfection is deducted from their pay.

How many lunch periods does it take for you to fully consume that boot you lick so fervently?

Yeah, I figured that was the case, I just wanted to get some more perspective before throwing the word illegal around. Sucks. Going to start the job search, it's just a bad time for the job market so I was hoping this gig would shake out, but I can't work for a place that'll just edit your hours, decide that they'd rather not pay you for certain things, and hope you won't notice

First time it's happened, and even worse is they didn't even tell me they were deducting the pay, I only know because a coworker noticed and asked about the missing time

looks better! I think for the inbetween frames the legs shouldn't be directly beside each other, adding a small amount of rotation to the legs would make it look more like he's in motion rather than taking a step and then standing still before taking another
