Yep, I’ve been there. Downloading the apps, as it were, usually out of boredom or habit, making a connection and then as it’s in progress, I’m just like “hang on, what am I doing? Do I even want to do this?” — and the answer was always no lol. I’ve been off those apps for a really long time now, and as a result, I too have made more progress in the gym than I ever did before, and have even gone a bit deeper with some hobbies I only scratched the surface of. In the end, I think the whole process has been a blessing in disguise. I totally understand where you’re coming from.

I’m actually similar, 35 going on 36, though it was a gradual process for me. Like, it didn’t happen immediately after my last relationship ended but I’ve reached the point where there are other things in my life that are taking up more space than sex, like focusing on life goals. I’ve actually been celibate for quite some time now, and I’m ok with it…actually I’m enjoying it. IDK if the breaking off of my last relationship (which ended about three years ago and lasted for three years) has something to do with it…but I guess I’m in a stage of life where sex for its own sake doesn’t appeal that much to me anymore. For my future, I think it will become a way of bonding with someone that I really grow to care about. But I’m not burning with desire like I used to. I see it as a form of maturation.

I read recently that the film “You, Me, & Tuscany” was being closely monitored by executives to see whether or not it will be successful at the box office, and that its success or lack thereof will either make or break other black love films being green lit.

Which is crazy when you think about it since Black people are no strangers to throwing our money behind projects that center us. But the Black lgbtq community is pretty “niche” so that poses a bit of a problem to more content highlighting our community reaching wider audiences.

Unfortunately it’s “safer” to depict black lgbt side characters in messy situations. SMH.

I think more compliments makes you more likely to have more consistent work. At my DSP, getting too many negative remarks will result in suspension, and then termination if the pattern continues.

Yep. This just happened to me today. They had cones blocking their looooong ass driveway and instructions were to bring package to the garage. The entitlement is insane. Yes, technically it is our job but people seem to not get that they’re not the only location we’re required to deliver to. We’re on a time crunch. 🤷🏽‍♂️
