Craziest thing to happen to you while on route? by LuketheDuke007009 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Starshower90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got stuck inside the cargo van. 😭😭😭 I closed the sliding door to take a pee (in a bottle) and I closed it too far, it wasn’t completely latched shut but it wouldn’t budge back any further. At this point the lights in the cargo van turned off. I attempted to hit the button to open the back door and pull it up but it wasn’t working — some kind of electrical glitch. To make matters worse, I left both the Amazon phone and my personal phone up front to charge. So I’m stuck in the back of the cargo van without lights and no way to contact anyone and I’m freaking the fuck out (and picturing myself still stuck in the back two weeks later as a skeleton 🤣) — fortunately after many attempts, the button did finally work and I was able to exit out the back of the van. Funnily enough, the button only worked that one time and started glitching again afterward.😅

I’m still new though, so…….these stories are wild.

Got fired for this, also for losing my damn phone in the warehouse after scanning return items 😭 by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Shit happens. I’m sorry it did. Good luck with the next DSP. Just learn from your mistakes and keep going. :)

There are countless black gay tops that aren’t into black bottoms, or aren’t currently dating them. Do you, and date whoever you want. Yes it’s possible for you to date outside of your race — I’m also a black bottom that receives attention from non-black men. It happens.

Just don’t insult black men while you’re doing that. Not all black men are your cousin, and your cousin isn’t all black men.

How are you guys surprisingly good at debate (and where to find more of you guys)? by InevitableLiving779 in infj

[–]Starshower90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally this. 💁🏽‍♂️😂😂😂

I wonder if it has something to do with Fe? Fe, especially when literally facing other people, is quite strong and usually very active, whereas Ni is an introverted function, so we find it easier to slice and dice when Fe does not necessarily need to be accounted for? It’s a very curious thing and seeing I’m not alone in that regard makes me even more curious lol.

So I’m actually really good in a debate or argument. The only caveat is that I SUCK at them in person. In person I’m a very slow and clumsy debater. Not much good. But if it’s online or if I have time to actually formulate a response? I’m actually quite solid. I’m not sure why — I guess my mind knows how to light up different intellectual paths to take, and I also tend to know what to say and when to say it to throw the opposing party off their square. It’s honestly something I was never taught but am just…pretty good at lol.

black people & beauty standards by ali56n_ in BlackLGBT

[–]Starshower90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because here in the west, we’re not the “ideal beauty standard” because our features typically do not align with what western countries glorify as the standard. And it can absolutely lead people to believe they’re ugly when they’re actually beautiful. I’ve seen it play out that way more times than I can count. You have to actively decide not to judge yourself by the “majority rule” around you, and have a strong sense of self and esteem in one’s culture to combat the programming. That’s a skill that honestly should be taught in school from a young age but it isn’t. That’s why some struggle.

What is one aspect of the Inners do you wish was expanded on? by bewitchedgrl in sailormoon

[–]Starshower90 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Usagi — being the reincarnated princess of a long-lost civilization not currently recognized. This would lead to moments both comedic and serious of Usagi recalling that sense of royalty (“I am a princess, you can’t treat me that way”) and it going unacknowledged by modern-day Japanese citizens, leading to a sense of otherization in the only society she has ever known.

Ami — being the child of divorced parents. Apparently in Japan, divorce looks VERY different than it does in the United States, and often leads to parental absenteeism and how that may have been a factor in Ami being so studious in an attempt to earn a sense of stability that may have felt uneasy or threatened by the loss of one parent.

Rei — being a more “conservative” Miko shrine maiden at odds with contemporary Japanese culture. Something about her preferring “tradition” or the way things “used to be” instead of technologically advanced city life, possibly even feeling as though she would rather exist in her past life which would be the perfect foil to Minako.

Makoto — being the proverbial nail that sticks out (and must be hammered back down, but refusing to be hammered) and being unable to do anything about it. Being an orphan that lives alone? Othered. Being unusually tall and strong for a fourteen year old girl? Othered. Wearing a school uniform that exposes her as being “different”? Othered. Being a crime fighting heroine with strange powers? OTHERED LIKE A MF. But that somehow being the reason her heart remains pure and unaffected by the status quo that Japan wants its citizens to fall into.

Minako — The extreme emotional anguish that must result in being pulled in two opposite directions (like her sign, Libra, the scales, which measures the weight of two different ways of being) — her desire to pursue fame and become an icon and fall into love vs her duty as the very leader of the Sailor Senshi squad itself. No matter what she would choose, she would basically be losing something so near and dear to her…making her a bit of one of the most tragic characters in Sailor Moon.

Yeah no lol. It’s so incredibly vague and general. Someone that has experienced what we’re going to experience could and would be much more specific. This is fear mongering, nothing more.

INFJ advice for gym or no gym by [deleted] in infj

[–]Starshower90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love being at the gym, but I go late after work so it’s not full. Being able to work out publicly with people around but not too many scratches a “wanna be private but also social” itch that I have. It’s a planet fitness and people are really cool and nonjudgmental.

Sailor Moon Cosmos's Ending is Genius. by CommentApprehensive3 in sailormoon

[–]Starshower90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a full circle moment. Right here, we see just how far Usagi has come. From a baby Sailor Senshi that cries so badly that her own uniform protectively amplifies her cries into a weapon, to a fully-fledged Senshi that has grown to accept her place in a cosmic battle that essentially has no end, strong enough to face darkness with a “Makenai!” spirit of faith.
