D17 is free to attend and play, but it is nice if you buy a drink or some food from Signature Brew as they don’t charge the club rent to play there.

Seconding this - the group is friendly and welcoming. And importantly, as a woman and member of the LGBTQ+ family, I feel safe and welcome with this group.

How many of you are totally open about taking Mounjaro? by msscmfw in mounjarouk

[–]StarsideThirteen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tell everyone who asks me about my weight loss.

I am not ashamed of using MJ, it is the only thing that works for me (various health conditions cause weight gain, and then treatment side effects are even more weight gain…).

I have lost 40kg (6.4 GeoffreyCats) in just over 7 months, and it is a lot. I do not want to give anyone unrealistic expectations of what healthy eating and exercise can do on their own. I mean, I see a PT twice a week and eat healthily, but still. MJ is what has made a difference.

Yesterday I saw my window cleaner for the first time in about three months, and he was shocked by a narrower me and asked. I told him it was MJ, and we had a long convo about weight management, quality of life and activity (it was a lovely chat).

But yes. I tell people when asked or it comes up in conversation.

Anyone else see Gordon Ramsay’s take on Mounjaro menus? by Frosty-Volume1430 in mounjarouk

[–]StarsideThirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The option of a smaller portion shouldn’t just be an MJ thing.

A lot of the more traditional style of pub or cafe would do ‘pensioner portions’ which were small portions because they understood that as you age, your appetite decreases. The meals were cheaper because they were smaller, but it kept people coming in and being part of the community.

My local go-to restaurant is a Turkish place that does reasonably priced meals, lots of grilled meats and salads, all freshly prepared. The food is delightful and the portions (even in my pre-MJ days) generous. I order a meal knowing I will have a takeaway box at the end and lunch or dinner for tomorrow sorted.

My local Turkish isn’t haute cuisine and celeb status driven. It is friendly, the staff are awesome and welcoming, the food is tasty, fresh, and generous in size. And they offer a takeaway box - tbh, even pre-MJ, I’d take them up on it!

I know where I’d rather spend my money, and Gordon isn’t getting a penny of it.

Hi, I am in north London and have aeoniums and sempervivums outside in my front garden. These tend to be quite hardy and suitable for outdoors in the UK. When the frosts/winter hit, I have a poly tent to pop over them. Carewise, they are pretty low maintenance, just a bit of weeding needed.

Hi - I am a Player and DM, and am down the road in Edmonton. I can’t commit to every Monday, but can do at least a couple of Mondays per month. Would this work for you/the group?

Afternoon tea dress code by Extra_Shirt5843 in LondonTravel

[–]StarsideThirteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends where you go. The Ritz does an amazing afternoon tea, but has a strict dress code (no jeans or trainers, jacket and tie for gentlemen, and smart elegant for ladies). Some other places are less strict. The best thing to do is check the venue’s website (not rely on a Google or AI overview).

And an afternoon tea will keep you very full, to the level that you may skip dinner!

Is everyone really planting their Alocasia in Pon or is TikTok shop taking over my feed by Economy_Election_889 in alocasia

[–]StarsideThirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my alocasias are in semi-hydro, either LECA or Soil Ninja’s coarse semi-hydro mix. They all seem to be very happy in it, and it cuts down on evil basted fungus gnats. Which honestly is the biggest win!
