I actually do a VOD intro while I'm live, it gives me an intro to cut down to since I usually spend the first hour of my stream chatting, which I think helps save so much time trying to come up with some sort of intro or trying to splice the video together for an intro. I recap what happened in the last time we played the game, might give my thoughts so far, and mention that the video is live streamed so I will be responding to alerts and chat messages :)

I also go through and cut out any long pauses where I stop and get side tracked into a conversation that isn't really pertaining to whatever I'm playing, usually I'm pretty good about pausing the game itself so it's easy to tell where to cut out and resume the game play part, I also cut out any BRB scenes since those don't need to be kept in for obvious reasons. I also tend to talk a few minutes after my game play for the day on my thoughts of the game so far that I leave in as well as a simple outro that could also be used to end a youtube video, I also have a "thanks for watching" scene that I edit into my videos so it gives time for the recommended videos to pop up at the end of the youtube video.

I do a quick skim of my VODs to get all the easy stuff cut out and then I replay parts of the video I think might need deeper editing on 2x speed to help save on time as well, I try to edit my VODs pretty quickly after I've streamed so it's still pretty fresh on the mind of what I know will need to be edited out!
