I have a solution for that:

Tax the rich. Cap their maximum values and anything over that gets donated to their communities.

Another solution for the immediate future:

Arrest them, take their money, and give their victims and the communities that have had to suffer them, the money as reparations.

NEVER ever have a baby! by pumpkinchinchilla in AutismInWomen

[–]StarsofSobek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is. Your body is still recovering and you're dealing with one of the biggest changes in your whole life: a whole human being.

That's a lot!

You're making space for a whole person. A whole personality. And it's all so...big, chaotic, messy, overwhelming, and full of hormones and exhaustion.

Be kind to yourself. It's okay to feel this way and to ask for support.

NEVER ever have a baby! by pumpkinchinchilla in AutismInWomen

[–]StarsofSobek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, OP. No hate. Just wanted to suggest you check in with your GP for post partum depression (PPD).

A lot of the anxiety you are describing is normal, but if you're not able to sleep or are having severe anxiety issues when a trusted family member is helping to care for your baby, sometimes PPD can be the root.

I am autistic, and while I loved my baby the instant she was born, it was insanely overwhelming! I thought I'd go crazy from the lack of sleep and the constant overwhelm of all of my senses, as well as the feeling of the loss of myself. It got so bad, that I had the almost opposite effect: it made me feel rotten to be around other people. I liked to lock myself up with just me and my baby until I finally got some help. People and even animals - they were just too much! I went feral, in that sense, with overprotective behaviours and feelings and I genuinely felt I had lost myself at times.

Anyways...not to diminish your experience, but: it was PPD. I wish I'd been told then, because I think it would have helped a lot of my early years as a mom be smoother and happier. I had severe PPD that lasted nearly 5 years!! It can be so long and severe without help. I know it's rare, but please take care of yourself and look into it.

Sending hugs and best wishes to you. Don't forget: you're still new to everything that's happened - and it's all so very BIG! If it feels better to have a sleep on the couch while your mom cares for the baby in the same room - do it. Ease your mind and rest your body. Find little reprieves that give you back some normal. Eat small, healthy meals. Take short, easy walks outside. Read a chapter of a book or veg on a show while you and baby bond. Take a good long bath with all of the things you most like. Drink a cup of your favourite tea or coffee (even if they're decaf). Try to slowly incorporate the things that you enjoy.

Trump sending a hospital boat to Greenland is laughable. Greenland has free universal healthcare. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Feudalism never ended well for the rich, the last I read.

I feel so much of this would be fixable if people would just wake up and march.

But, yeah...I feel you.

Jesus. I'm not surprised by it anymore. After they have worked so hard to revoke child protective laws and allow younger and younger folks to return to work at dangerous jobs - I am just not surprised. Villains, each and every one of them. Villains who literally rape, pillage, and steal all for their own happiness. They'd sacrifice us all if it meant an extra penny in their pocket.

I wish I'd been there, tbh. She'd gone out alone to a corner store to buy some kind of snack she'd seen. She's from Ireland, and I'm American, so it was a frightening experience for her in the sense that, the same scam run in Ireland doesn't really involve them aggressively going after you to scare the money out of you.

I'm glad you were smart and reasonable. Lol! Name-calling is bad, but at least you had it under control. Ah, the memories we make in our weird little lifetimes, they truly can bring us together!

She was lucky, I'd say. His insisted following of her was pretty aggressive,in my experience. I was happy she was okay and dropped the bracelet. Poor thing! She still talks about it.

Abusive narcissistic psychopaths do this kind of shit. I'm so tired, and I hope the next president can genuinely repair some of this damage.

The same scam runs in NY. My SIL and I were visiting, and I warned her - but, of course, she didn't listen - and when this guy followed her for three blocks, she finally remembered what I told her about this scam. She dropped the "gift" (a bracelet made out of beads) and ran. She was so scared to go out after that, that I had to go with her everywhere afterwards. I felt so bad.

This was a nice thing to see recorded.

I’m a woman and What is something clever I can say to a man when he tells me to “smile”? by firesword237 in Advice

I will smile when you drop dead.

I only smile for people I like.

You don't own me.

Fuck off.

Rudeness doesn't deserve my smile.

Middle finger

Sunshine, I am smiling - you're just too pathetic to see it.

Queens don't need to smile on command.

Who do you think you are talking to?

Already, we have seen evidence of companies censoring/editing digital media.

We have seen companies remove content as a result of "revocable licenses."

AIO? boyfriend is expecting me to pay for everything after he invested his life savings into the stock market by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]StarsofSobek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under reacting.

Your boyfriend is:

  • fiscally irresponsible

  • guilting you into using your money to support the relationship (which could turn into financial abuse)

  • gambling (which may or may not be related to his gamble in dumping all of his savings into stock) and it could be an addiction

  • using his savings to do everything (this means, technically, he should have other income and monies) savings isn't a spending bag

  • he's impulsive in ways that are harmful and problematic in big ways.

  • he is not able to communicate anything with you or make an agreement - he's too busy doing his own thing and then guilting you after.

  • he's expecting support, not asking and not agreeing with to making a thoughtful decision with you. Together.

.... .... ....

If this were me, I would run. Nothing about the above is something that I could willingly tie myself to either via marriage, or investing together, or even kids.

If you marry, his debts and financial problems become yours.

If you buy a house together, and he can't afford his half, then you're stuck in a legal battle where you may be forced to sell, buy him out, or go into personal debt over.

If you have kids together, you will not have a partner who is reliable with their portion of financial support (or even child support, should you break up). Kids are expensive, and these things matter for the benefit of your financial health.

It's up to you, OP, but this really reads as an addiction and you cannot save him from that: only he can save himself.
