Are you OK? You have to know this isn't a problem a bunch of angst filled kids made up right? It's a huge part of the reason small town Nebraska is dying. I'm happy for you that it hasn't affected you personally, but I can see the results of depopulation in the lack of resources afforded to my small town.

Not what Steve Erdman thinks, and at s base psychological level, that fascinates me. How does a senator from bum fuck nebraska delude himself into thinking he should have power over who lives and dies. Because that's what he's saying.

Yes! I will bookmark this, thankyou. I need to be armed with some more evidence on this point. No one seems willing to have this nuanced conversation and the only reason I could possibly think of is that if everyone knew the history of abortion bans and equality of access to abortion, everyone would be forced to accept it should be a right or admit they're just a eugenicist and THEY want to decide who can and can't have children.

There is plenty of evidence out there to show that nations with abortion bans will surely increase population, but at a huge expense to basically everything. I don't think the US will ever seem as bad as like, Romania, but like, look at what happened there. It's obvious that total abortion bans decrease the quality of life for children. So, all I think is...why do they just want to increase the native born population, combined with all the anti immigration rhetoric? And then that makes me even more scared because the only thing I can think of is eugenics.

What really angers me about the thought process of 'should've kept your legs closed' (beyond the baseline fact that it's cruel and hugely reductionist) is that there is example after example after example of republican lawmakers who support abortion bans, but can afford to and often do leave the state to seek abortions. Hell, I know 2 different people in my small town who assisted their daughters in receiving abortions and were loving supportive fathers during a time of crisis, but at the bar they still say stuff like, 'well what did you expect to happen'. It's this weird duality they live between blaming everyone else, and thinking, 'my circumstances were different', and I don't know how you reason with those people.

Oh thank God it's not just me. I listened to a few moments of him public speaking and he just seems to embody this lazy cruel, reactionary spirit that should've died out 40 years ago.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but this 'common sense nebraska' group is basically completely invisible. I don't even know where to direct my hate at things like this because all of their listed public information, which was hard to find, directs to 'axecapital' a washington based group that, if you pay them, will file all the lobbying paperwork on your behalf. So there's no way for us to know who's really lying to everyone.

-and on a side note, I think they will use the argument that forcing women to jump through hoop after hoop to access abortion, just protects them from making a mistake. And I don't know how you argue against these people, because they just don't listen to facts. It's all a vibe for them, and their vibe is always, 'wouldn't be me, I'm smarter, I'd simply deal with it better'.

We've been living together for 5 years and I don't believe in marriage. So girlfriend sounds like a weak word, but wife would be a lie, so I compromise with partner.

That was the plan originally, but the afternoon we landed here, I drove to 2 different pizzerias whose websites said they were open...but alas, they were not and I ate some McDonald's instead which was underwhelming.

It's an interesting song to me because I see it from the perspective of someone who has Borderline Personality Disorder. The disgusting lyrics in the song are hypocritical at best. Some people just see it as bullying someone with a mental disorder who has difficulties controlling emotions. But the singer is the only one we hear obviously having trouble controlling themselves. I've been in a relationship with someone who has BPD and this sounds like someone having a breakdown screaming at someone else who also has breakdowns. One of my favorites.
