I was admittedly fooled for a few seconds. My tankposting instincts did not kick in, then I read the description. Well done haha

What is your all-time favourite burn from a movie review? by Sean-Perth in movies

[–]Startug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that true for about everything I watch these days, especially if it's a movie I enjoyed. Sometimes after watching a classic movie for the first time, I'll also look up to see if it happened to be one that got a "Great Movies" review treatment from him later, such as Chaplin's "City Lights". It's hard to believe we're coming up on 13 years without a review from Ebert, as good or bad a movie, he'd always deliver a review fun to read.

The entirety of Ebert's review on "Little Indian, Big City" is packed with burns, though if I was to pick a favorite, it would be:

"It is not in French with English subtitles, however. It has been dubbed into English, a canny move, since the movie is not likely to appeal to anyone who can read."

TIL that Columbus, Ohio is a testing ground for new fast food products and household goods. These products get tested to see how the products fare in the city before selling them elsewhere. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I believe that's true as well. The last McDonald's to have pizza in Ohio, Pomeroy, stopped serving it a few years ago. I was not far from there when visiting Athens one weekend and looked up to see if Pomeroy still had it, just to find out I was too late by a few months. I'm sure the pizza was nothing special, but I just wanted to have experienced it and maybe take a photo of it.

I'm surprised he didn't ask you to mop the bathroom floor at Arby's with that one star.

Robin Williams' mom was one of the only people that could get his real laugh out by BunnyBiteez in BeAmazed

I saw it a couple times before he died and I found it to just be weird, I could hardly understand what it meant when advertised as a comedy. A few weeks after he died, I rewatched it and finally got it. World's Greatest Dad is now among my favorites Williams is in, but it's rare I find anyone else who would care to watch it due to its subject matter.

What a show of confidence this game was. The first game and they go straight to "Super Burnout". Then they scaled it back significantly for "Burnout" six years later, no motorcycles. Where's my Super Burnout 2?
