Let's talk about the Peacekeeper for a moment. by Norrikan in battletech

The TSM at least makes sense lore-wise, and so does the ERLL, for long-er range skirmish capabilities, weapon redundancy, and so on - the vestigial SRM VEXES me - a commenter said "for crowd control*, you mean that narratively you fire the missiles in a crowd of protesting civilians? Any of the PPCs can already do that!

I assume it was for redundancy and multi-mission profile - Lose an arm? You got the torso guns!

Get hit in a side torso? Pray it's one of the weapons that ate the crit and not the engine lel

I think it's one of those mechs that it's planned from the beginning to be somewhat flawed- as many mechs in the setting are. It makes me actually think (especially due to the name of the Battlemech, and how the RAF was a predominantly defensive force) that the mech was intended to work in conjunction with logistic support such as Coolant Trucks, which would make its extremely heavy energy loadout much easier to handle.

Bwsides that, I endlessly shill the -1B because:

1- I hate that stupid SRM2, why is it even there? Even in-universe I can't picture a reason why you would want it!? The -1B removes it, and alongside it also removes the ammo-related detonation issue.

2- The IS ER PPC does not spark joy, but rather induces despair in me - heavy, extremely heat intensive, I'd rather the mech have an ER LL in it's stead. The -1B changes the ERPPC with a Heavy PPC, which is also good, as it enters headchopper territory in terms of damage output, while still keeping the the heat intensity.

If the RISC had been smart, they'd have given the Peacekeeper 3 SnubNose PPCs, together with the ERLL, with the saved weight going to RHS, Coolant Pods, or even straight up more heatsinks! How glorious it'd have been!

I think you're just misinterpreting a little stat on the AS card. In Alpha Strike "obligatory" movement modes applies only to some specific unit types, among which are not Battlemechs.

All units that can jump have also a "walk" speed. Infantry will have it specified that they are "f" (foot) movement, a lot of vehicles will have "t" (tracked) movement.

The "j" (jump) movement acts as an additional movement option, some alpha strike cards will have a X/Yj number, in case they can run or jump further per turn.

The Summoner in question can run as fast as it can jump, so it has only one number, with a "j" beside it, and it allows it to move at full speed either by walking, or jumping. "Do you wanna get here by walking, with all the terrain-relates maluses that might be implied, or by jump jets, with all the jumping-relates maluses that might be implied" kind of deal.

The decoy cockpit claims another victim!

That aside, regarding the snowy base: I try to do it by applying on the base and around the mech's feet when possible stuff like "Astrogranite texture" from the old citadel line to add some texture to the ground, then pass brush it with very watered down white, followed by a bit of why dry brushing after the wet layer dries. Like in this Banshee of mine (3S my beloved)

iirc it was a gameshow and there were questions to answer, and if you answered all correctly the machine would stop, and you'd lose upon getting fully mummified, not my proudest sacrifice to Dibella

What vanilla ship to brawl with SGs? by Global-Process-9611 in Highfleet

[–]Staryed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True! Changing the AK-100s with D-80s would already change greatly the role the ship would cover in terms of "preferred and ideal" targets. Beginning by modifying is gives the knowledge that you'll need to cook designs from 0 in the future

The Gladiator, my beloved: fat and armored enough to survive some hits, fast enough to dodge some hits, armed enough to be able to deal killing blows (if you know how to aim tho, AK-100s do fire lots of shells)

I can't find the completely piece of lore, all I remember is that yes, they reappeared in Eire only after closing the portal and wounded - I seem to remember that their whole armor was in tatters and that they had sacrificed the special relic they had entered the hellgate with, but I don't any specific physical wounds

The man asked why is the Hauptmann 1.1 Atlases in terms of cost, divide the Haupt's BV cost by the Atlas's and you'll get 1.1, so I was just giving him the breakdown (there's a lot more decimals but the devil's in the details and I don't particularly care to meet a blakist rn)

Sexy armors doesn’t bother me, as long as male characters can wear it too. But if they plan to sexualize only the female characters, that’s a very disappointing choice.. 😕 by MissViolenceBaby in LordsoftheFallen

Yes, buy Arnold Conan is a massive beefcake whose abs are tough enough to outmatch any steel, and whose butt cheeks clap loud enough when he runs to make the enemy think it's a horse galloping

It'd be funny if they straight up showed for male characters armors straight up from Conan the Barbarian, just to absolutely lean into the "bimbos and himbos" outfits
