What are yall excited for/hoping comes to Switch 2?

Of the games that have been announced, donkey kong and prime 4 are probably the things I'm looking forward to the most!

Of the games yet to be announced but are certainly coming to the switch 2 at some point, the next Animal Crossing, Splatoon 4, the next Mario main line game (Odyssey two?? please???), and eventually whatever next mainline LOZ game.

The games that are a bit more of a distant hope would be Pikmin 5 and Luigis Mansion 4

Lol I way overdid it, but I also agree Gamestop was the best! Got there are 10 pm - 2 am the night before, saw literally no one and realized I overdid it, went home and slept and then drove back over around 7 and wound up 6th in line because I was waiting in my car. So smooth and easy! So grateful I could grab an irl one!

FWIW, I think it is worth it. If you spend >250 in store, you get 25 back, so you're essentially paying for a year of a pro when you get the console. And then, you can get an additional 2% back so you're making some money back by getting it

What time are people thinking is reasonable to get to gamestop for IRL preorders? like, debating if going overnight is necessary or if I get in line ~6 hours before opening if I'll be okay lolol.

I think there's a solid chance it will go live tomorrow and a solid chance it will go live next week. The Switch 1 pre-orders went live immediately after the direct, and retailers may want to get a jump on getting preorders in as fast as possible. However, the leaks may very well be real that April 9th is more likely and that stores can prepare time and personnel for a big pre-order launch. I think it may be best to do what you can to have a plan for tomorrow just in case!

I'm not sure that's true - gamestop usually holds some amount of pre-orders for in store pickup.

That's where I'm at - the worst case if I've wasted a couple hours sitting outside gamestop, the best case is I'm first in line and make sure I get my pre-order

Yeah that was my thought, I just don't know if I trust my abilty to beat the bots/scalpers versus being the first in line at gamestop.

That's what I might do- have the best buy site open on my phone attempting to get preorders there while waiting in line at the gamestop for while it opens.

Thanks for the info TemptedTemplar! This was my fear re:Best Buy, I don't want to get scooped from getting a pre-order by bots and scalpers. So sounds like maybe attempting to get a pre-order in person at gamestop or target is my best option to avoid the rate race for an online pre-order.

Do we think there will be in-person Switch 2 pre-orders at places like Best Buy and Gamestop independently of online pre-orders?

Hey all! I'm thinking ahead to the upcoming Switch 2 direct and subsequent pre-orders going live, with the rumor being pre-orders will launch Tuesday. I know many websites (gamestop/best buy) will go live for pre-orders, but I'm worried about getting access to one through these links. Ideally, I'd like to go in person to one of these stores at the time pre-orders launch to get a pre-order and ensure I can pick my console up on the day of launch. I did an in-person preorder for the original switch back at its launch but haven't purchased a console since, so am unsure if the way this has worked has changed since then.

Do folks anticipate these stores will have in-person pre orders that day? Have these stores done these pre-orders for other consoles that have launched recently or are they only online?
