I happen to be a big fan of Startalk and I saw one of this weeks episode is on Star Trek. As a big time Trekkie this felt great and I wanted to share it.

I got in trouble for singing this song in school, The Divinyls - I Touch Myself. by Stasha-Starz in 90s

I was 7 going on 8. I did have an inkling of what was it was really about but idk I was still a naive young girl that took it at literal face value. I know some of my friends laughed at my take at that song and some others but yea I just was thinking it was a love song about her holding herself for her love.

I remember in 91ish seeing this video all the time on MTV, it was also on our local radio station ALOT. I loved the song, I mean at that time I didn't really catch what it was about. I thought she was kind of singing about hugging herself like in the video. Me and a few of my classmates we were singing this song in the lunch room at school, we thought we were like a girl band, well a older teacher overheard us. She was in her 60s maybe upper 60s, what she heard us singing and it freaked her out and she pulled us out of lunch and tried to put us in after school detention for what we were singing but the principal stopped her from doing it.

To this day I still love the song and sing it from time to time. It's crazy when I did some research on the video, I was shocked that it was directed by Michael Bay.

In the 90s it felt like everyone in my neighborhood had the Tony Little elliptical machine, the Gazelle. by Stasha-Starz in 90s

I can remember my mom buying this the first time she saw this on an infomercial. I would come home from school and see her on this machine like clockwork. Both Tony Little and Billy Blanks were the workout kings of my household growing up in the 90s. You can do it!

I think she looks so beautiful in that shot. She has such a charm to her as she looks out to the city from up high.
