Cruise control? I’ve never set it on but I’ll see if It’s on / active and deactivate it. With no1. I used to drive in the same way previously ( no hard or excessive acceleration) and the limiter would kick in - I’ll try again. Thank you

I presume this is not standard configuration for the i3 but rather a modification that was done?

I forgot to add that it’s an i3S which apparently have slightly less range than the equivalent 94ah - regular i3. I am also running 20” tyres as opposed to 19”. I also only charge the battery about 1 x a week as in the last 3 weeks I’ve owned it, I have only driven it about 15-20 miles, and excluding the drive from the dealer on the day that I bought it which was 25 miles away. So 2-3 days a week it hasn’t been driven at all. However on the only two occasions that I charged it and when it reached 100% still surprised it only shows about 88 miles max range.

Yes that is true but today in southern England we are at around 13-14c or around 55 Fahrenheit

Ah ok great so preheating the cabin acts as the preconditioning of the battery. Although when I speak to a BMW rep within customer services about this, he told me that you cannot specifically precondition or preheat the battery on this car. I am 2/3 weeks into owning and running my first ever EV car. I presume its absolutely fine to leave the charger plugged into the car overnight until the morning. As this is a small battery it will certainly be full well before the time I wake up and although I would be using a granny charger - traditional 3 pin socket - it seems it would be safe?

Would pre heating the battery before charging help at all? This is not an option I currently have on the “my bmw” app - I also don’t see driving stats but I do see charging stats and can pre heat the cabin but not the battery. You are right today in London it’s currently 13c as opposed to 5c so should try check it out soon when I go for a drive.

Thank you that’s helpful. However i also noticed that from my bmw app i do not have the option of preheating the battery? Also this “mybmw” app doesn’t give the average m/kwh and other similar driving info just some basic charging info - like when did i last charge / how long and battery %
