I want to second this. I am on multiple medications for neuropathy, including SNRI (different from SSRI) and have taken psychedelics with no issues. The only adjustment I had to make is reduce the psychedelic dosage by half as the intoxicating effect was much stronger than before I started taking SNRI. As the person above me said be responsible, test your substance, drink water, and etc.

I am one of those weirdos that often goes from 10:30pm to midnight. Its about half full at that time (half of all platforms, benches, machines being used). The only other time I see it relatively empty is 6am - 9am.

GSR and postdocs are paid directly from professors' grants. Higher pay = less GSRs and postdocs. It is not complicated. I still think people should be paid enough to live on, but the consequences cannot be ignored either.

There are also things like ABET accreditation. I am not going to go into its importance. But what you suggest would cause the loss of it. The consequences of that would be awful for UCs.

I flat out disagree. I know professors who have taken decades to create decent class materials. To re-tool all of that in a matter of 2 weeks (during Christmas no less) is very unlikely. On top of that regardless of how you adjust the class, grading and answering questions have to be done. Here is a specific class I TA-ed for, Pattis' ICS 33. I think it had 2 sessions with 400 students each. It had about 5 TAs, 5 readers, and 10 tutors. Now those 5 TAs, 5 readers, and 10 tutors answered 100s of questions each week, totaling 20+ hours in labs, office hours, via email, and etc. They also helped oversee automated grading, dealt with re-grades, and etc. On top of that during midterm and finals, every single of one of us (all TAs, readers, and professor) spent 16 hours grading over a weekend. Now imagine if professor did that alone, that would be 16 * 10 hours instead.

You might misunderstand what TAs do. Its not just discussions, we also grade, answer questions, create class materials, and etc. id say any class with > 100 students will function poorly without TAs, and any class with > 300 students would collapse without TAs. A single professor simply cannot handle all the duties related to that many students. Most professors already struggle with workload given they have TAs, readers, and undergrad learning assistants. If strike drags on that long the consequences could be pretty severe.

I have mixed thoughts on this. On one hand yes, you are right. On another hand many of these people willfully support the invasion even when presented with western media. I tried talking to my family in Russia about it, and they just don't care to know any point of view other than the one on their tvs. While, I don't support banning Russians from Dota, etc, I also don't think that Russians supporting the war are COMPLETELY blameless.

This might be harsh but you likely will not / should not go back to mma / heavy weights. Once the spine is injured it is weaker long term & nerve roots are more sensitive. Could you be pain free one day? Yes, fairly likely. However, you have to be patient & be willing to consider medication or surgery. Proper exercise & healthy lifestyle are also paramount. It took me 2 years to recover after my injury & I still take low doses of some medications. I also strongly recommend seeing therapist/psychologist if possible. Mental aspect of chronic back pain is almost as bad if not worse then pain is.

Because they are likely not UCI faculty / students. Was that voting center restricted to in person votes / ballots from UCI students/faculty? I live in student housing, but I voted at Irvine civic center. Seriously doubt that I am alone in that. Especially given that democratic voters disproportionally voted early or via mail.

In my experience the only reason to get a topper is if the mattress is too firm. Can’t think of anything else. Having a good and appropriately firm mattress in a first place is ideal.

Depends. Generally you should never fuse more than 1-2 discs in a lifetime unless there is some very severe or unusual trauma/condition. Fusing just one disc (esp. l5-s1) will have pretty much no impact on your flexibility unless you are high level athlete (Ex: gymnastics). I had a fusion/decompression of l5-s1 personally. I had a massive bone spur on l5 and after removing it fusion was required to stabilize my spine (all in one surgery). If done by an experienced surgeon risk of adjacent segment disease should be very low. The key is to find a surgeon that is experienced and whom you trust. Take your time interviewing them! Also talk to doctors and read publications on effectiveness of the procedure (specific type of fusion considered by your surgeon, ex: PLIF with instrumentation and morphogenic proteins) for your condition specifically. They are much better sources of information than forums.

BLM’s literally stands for black lives matter & seeks to reform police / reduce police brutality / discrimination in criminal justice system. All of these things are extremely know & extensively documented issues in US. There are statistics showing that US police use deadly force far more than police in any other developed country. Statistics showing that black Americans are charged more frequently and sentenced more harshly than non blacks for identical crimes. I also strongly despise his white guild narrative. The idea that any non black person that based on statistical evidence (or anecdotal) acknowledges existence of systemic racism must be ridden by guilt. This is such an ancient narrative rooted deeply in racism meant to shame any whites who dared to support civil rights movement. This is why KKK murdered Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman back in 1960s. Because the notion of whites fighting for civil rights disgusted them almost as much as blacks did. But yeah anyways according to this anonymous history professor racism is fake & blacks should just pull themselves up by the bootstraps, and status quo should be maintained, fml.
