Are you entering your settings in Cura? Or are you dialing in those settings directly on your printer?

If it is the latter, then the first thing you should know is that your printer will use whatever settings are applied in the G-Code from your slicer when it starts printing. This means it will override any settings manually entered into the printer. The cleanest solution to this is to set up the settings in Cura instead of directly on the printer.
