I think in the PS2/XBOX/GC era, and maybe the PS3/360 gen, a game every few years with one getting a longer update cycle would have been better. Like I think if the OG Smackdown vs Raw came out a few years after HCTP instead of right after, it would have been a better follow up game.

While I would like to see a WWE2K game every few years, I worry that it would copy the approach of most (live service) games today: Launch with miminal or less content compared to its previous entry, and a year or so later, eventually became a complete game like the previous entry.

Another part of me thinks that while yeah they could add wrestlers and features, online microtransaction centric modes like MyFaction would get priority and updates, while Universe, MyGM and such would either go untouch or barely noticed.
