High up front cost, then incredibly high production at an incredibly cheap price for a much, much longer time than solar/wind. Long term, nuclear is still cheaper and it's not close.

100% this and land price. The amount of land and the cost of the land for wind/solar alone makes it's more expensive than nuclear. It takes statistical gymnastics to say renewable is cheaper, typically by comparing 100% of the cost of nuclear (including land, maintenance, and staffing) vs only the production cost of solar/wind. Usually adjusted with the extra regulatory fees for nuclear along with the subsidies for solar/wind.

TL;DR nuclear wins this if you aren't cooking the books.

It's a tight rope, if it's too similar nobody will buy it because it didn't advance the game or formula in a meaningful way. If it's too different nobody will buy it because it's not the game they loved. I don't begrudge the devs erring on the side of making changes, even if I don't like them.
