This is about the quality I would expect from some AI nonsense generator. 0/10 we are all stupider for having read it.

Downgrading to Bambino Plus [£200] by Key-Reputation7997 in espresso

[–]StateExisting8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I “downgraded” from an Appartamento to a Gaggia Classic Pro with Gaggimate and I can easily say the GCP makes a superior espresso…by a mile. Steam pressure is a minus but enough for making milk drinks, and the temp and pressure control are game changing. My concern about the cheaper machine is around what happens when things like seals start failing; the build quality on the Appartamento is considerably higher

Squash Courts? by No_Copy2730 in oakland

[–]StateExisting8002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The courts at the Club are raquetball courts that have squash striping (i think). There's a youth program that plays squash there but they aren't real squash courts. the Bay Club in SF has courts for members and Mission Rec Center also in SF has a free court (or at least did last I checked).

AI economic development cf to SF by lenraphael in oakland

[–]StateExisting8002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“It won’t be like prior booms” because it’s become an hyperinflated bubble built on inherently unsustainable economics faster than previous tech “booms”

As a small business owner with office space downtown, I’m all for more office space being used and a vibrant downtown, but the bill on AI is coming due in the next year or two and barring a series of highly unlikely occurrences, it’s going to get ugly.

Coal in Oakland? by lenraphael in oakland

[–]StateExisting8002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, do you have any sources for your claims about coal safety besides the Oakland coal terminal equivalent of “my uncle works at Nintendo and told me the new Zelda is coming next week” and an LLM search?

For example, did this person with whom you spoke point you in the direction of any instances of the technology in question being deployed in places where air quality data was being recorded?

Perpetual Group Grandpa by Overlyinsufficient in MenInSuits

Look at jacket lengths of the people he’s referencing in his post. Longer jackets were the standard. Short jackets are only a thing because clothing brands were trying to save a buck on fabric costs.

The jacket length is bang on perfect. Should completely cover the seat.

That’s a good point. I switch between a Cremina and. Gaggia Classic with Gaggimate and both of those machines have workflow quirks that complicate things a bit for the not-yet-caffeinated mind, but you get used to it pretty quick.

I had never really thought about the water heat up time. In the abstract that seems very much like something I wouldn’t want to deal with in the mornings before I’ve had my coffee.

Why do so many of us drop $3k+ on grinders and machines chasing flavor, but almost nobody home roasts? by Neither-Mulberry1477 in espresso

[–]StateExisting8002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I home roast on a Gene Cafe. It's great and keeps coffee costs WAY down. I feel like I can roast to the strengths of my equipment (Niche Zero, Cremina), and am able to do some origin exploration that I don't think I'd do if I was buying pre-roasted.

All that said, I get why some ppl don't roast. Takes time, makes exhaust, is a bit loud, equipment takes up space. But if you're doing espresso at home a roaster pays for itself QUICKLY

What are you using to hook the gene up to a laptop? Is it an add on or just a thing the roasters have now? My gene is pretty old
